Full Count is a big deal in the world of Japanese denim: it's one of the Osaka 5, a cadre of ultra influential denim brands that shaped the industry for decades to come. Full Count's focus isn't on the ultra slubby, hairy jeans you'll find from Pure Blue Japan and Studio D'Artisan, the brand is about faithful recreations of vintage styles. Let's take a look at the 1110 model to see what that means.

Another solid review Bro! Because of your channel I've discovered the wonderful world of raw denim (and GYW footwear). I have 6 pairs of raw denim now, two BraveStars, two Japan Blues, one Momotaro, and one Pure Blue Japan (my personal favorite)! I really appreciate the time and energy you put into each one of your reviews & videos. Content of this category is still pretty rare on KZbin, so thank you for being the one to bring some more recognition to these fashion niches. Keep killing it!

Great video! I suspect the arcuates were removed since they were made for sale in the US. There was a large legal hubbub about a decade ago involving arcuates, red tabs, and a very familiar US clothing company. Shops like Blue In Green were caught in the crosshairs financially. Most/all Japanese brands then began to either produce arc-less models, alter the arcuate design enough to not be considered trademark infringement, or have them removed somewhere along the line before they reached the US.

Btw. Not sure if you’ll still see this, but here’s to hoping. Idk if you’re into cowboy boots but you should check out Tecovas! Their Dean (calf skin) and Roy (suede) are zip boots with a shorter more tapered shaft which works great with tapered or skinny jeans. Ends up looking like a Chelsea boot. If you do end up liking cowboy or roper styles they have exotics ranging from 325 to 800ish. But yeah, I think the Dean boot or Roy boot would make great reviews. Cool touch if you ever visit a store location is that they offer free drinks and boot shines.

Hey Jeremy, thanks for the tip! I think an Australian in New York might seem disingenuous reviewing cowboy boots haha but I do want more articles on my site about them. Email me if you want to write one :)
@jeremysano5170
@jeremysano5170 4 жыл бұрын
Stridewise haha maybe I’ll take you up on the article. I’ll send you an email if I do. Anyways, I’d still recommend the zip boot. I’m actually part of a Tecovas Enthusiast FB group and we have a bunch of folks from New York and a few Aussies (not even kidding). The zip and roper styles end up being a great entry point for most as you end up getting the comfort from the Western style without wearing the very ostentatious style of the 12” cowboy boot with the 1.75”. One of my friends lives up in Philly and wears the Deans every day with a suit.

I agree everyone is different. What I was referring to was true to size fit-not true to size? Also, shrinking or stretching I could expect from a given brand. I recently bought a pair of Brave Star’s 15oz. I’m no expert but they seem like an incredible deal for real quality selvage denim.

Nice review Nick. I may have missed something, however; in your ‘Final Thoughts’ i don’t believe you commented on the price/cost of the Full Counts jeans. I'm not a Japanese denim kind of guy but these are the best looking ones so far. Still waiting for that LVC review though! There is just something missing without the classic Levi's arcs on the back pockets. By the way, I know you're reviewing higher-end stuff most of the time, but have you tried Uniqlo's selvedge jeans? Very minimalistic and pretty vintage looking. For the price, they're definitely a good option if anyone wants to try selvedge jeans. They're sanforized though but still, I like mine.

I know there's a lot of demand for them, I think I'll probably review them next year? Maybe? I'm trying to emphasize heritage brands for the moment. Them and sneakers for some reason haha. Glad you liked the video man! Apparently Levi's sued to get the arcs off Full Count's pockets, so I'm told.

@@Stridewise The Levi's situation is so full of urban legends that you could make more than 100 videos without covering it all. One thing that always amuses me is that ALL the jeans that they exported to the UK between 1950 and 1970 had zip flies. Therefore we had 502's. In those days, the number actually had a meaning, The first number as a 6 meant female fitting. Therefore female fit 501's with a zip were 602. Today, the whole thing is about marketing and when you look at the number it is like buying an electric car that runs on diesel. 😊

Very ordinary in terms of Japanese denim. Plus u spent a very stupendous amount for them. Even Okayama denim is overpriced. Denimio is far better. Plus there isn’t any Buddhist philosophy on the samurai jeans. It’s Japanese philosophy. “Everything fades away” it’s akin to way of all flesh. These shouldn’t be more than 220 USD at the very max. Nothing outstandingly great about them.
