Review: Hush Superman by Prime 1 Studio

A massive release from Prime 1 Studio in 2019 (pun absolutely intended!), this is the 1/3 scale Hush Superman! The statue comes with two styles of cape, one is fully sculpted, and the one in this video is made of poseable fabric (head over to the Community Tab to vote for which type of cape you prefer). Can this statue live up to the amazing Jim Lee artwork from this now iconic Batman story?

I would say this is my favourite Superman statue, the paint apps on this looks nice and crisp and that colour of blue looks so vibrant, good in-depth honest review on a good piece.

Badman thanks! Yeah, I agree, this size is not for everyone. This Superman is a friend’s, and he has a corner of his room devoted to this line, and it looks amazing. For me, I don’t think I’d have room for it either.

great review ! I had the fabric and agreed with the cape issues and was the main reason I decided to sell the fabric and keep the sculpted edition . I also had an issue in the past the fabric capes where every time I walked by I was adjusting the cape , could never get it just right .

i always like fabric cape. like sideshow's statue. because it makes each statue 'special' for collectors. we can communicate with statue by adjusting mixmedia.

Awesome review. I’m on the fence ordering as the only place that has it now is directly from P1. Never ordered directly on the site before. Current economy shipping on it is $402. They charge all kind of other fees (import fees etc). Did you get yours off the P1 site?

This statue actually belonged to a friend, and I believe he may have bought it second hand. $402 is a tough pill to swallow, no doubt. I would do extensive searching for a domestic one (possibly second hand) first. It’s possible the second hand price will be in the same ballpark.

nice review mate as always, but i prefer 1/3 scale Sup from iron studio than this one. nice potrait face sculpts, dynamic pose, and space saver lol. but Prime 1 is on another level excexption only for 1/3 batman hush., keep the good work mate.

Love the review! So first of all I want this piece and where to get one since it’s sold out pretty much everywhere lol and second I actually prefer the sculpted cape because I hate posing fabric capes and I know it’ll drive me crazy trying to get the perfect look lol. I know Prime 1 also did a black version of the Superman Hush but he doesn’t come with any capes and it’s still available on the Prime 1 Website. What are your thoughts on that piece compared to the cape version and should I get that one or try my luck at getting the sculpted cape version? PS: I have the black version of the Batman Hush from Prime 1 and I thought maybe the black version will match better with it but the red and blue is so iconic for Superman, I’m just torn between the choices lol

I think the red and blue costume will always trump the black one. If you can get either cape, I’d go for it. My only issue with the fabric cape is the way it attaches is a bit of a pain.

Well, let's look at the options (not including variants)...Iron Studios, this one, and the upcoming Frank Miller style from Prime 1...I think that's it. So, I'd go 1. Hush, 2. Iron Studios, 3. Miller...keeping in mind that I have not personally seen the other two. If you have any kind of collector OCD with capes, I would go with the sculpted. If not, then the fabric cape gives you some more flexibility with display angles.

Too freaking menace. I understand that it is base on Hush but still he was just being hypnotised. This iteration is depicting him as the big bad guy instead same level like Darkseid himself. Maybe it is more acceptable if this is under the injustice ledge base on that face sculpture.

CAUTION, There is a big flaw, the cape is about 6 cm longer on one side than on the other. There is also the iron rod on the longer side which obviously does not cover the entire length of the fabric. I made a complaint to Prime 1 studio but they refuse to replace the cape saying it is just a variation. A simple variation !!! Pathetic...
