03:24 🎯 The KE Arms WWSD rifle embraces Eugene Stoner's AR-15 design philosophy, focusing on lightweight materials and streamlined features for modern manufacturing. 05:02 🛠 Stays true to Stoner's design: Features like the absence of a forward assist reflect Stoner's original intentions, honoring the AR's core principles. 06:08 🔧 Modifications: The rifle features a modified buffer spring for suppressor use and a PDQ lever for easier reloads, among other alterations. 08:25 🪛 Mag catch issues: Swapping the ambidextrous mag catch for a standard one resolved problems with magazine insertion and ejection. 09:49 🔫 Trigger update: Replaced the stock trigger with a two-stage Wilson Combat tactical trigger unit for more precision-oriented shooting. 11:37 🎯 Trigger limitations: The proprietary cartridge-style trigger system limits options for two-stage triggers in the market. 12:29 🏋 Additions: Enhanced the rifle with a precision bipod, BCM CAG grip, Streamlight hlx, and a Primary Arms GLX 3-18x Scope for long-range accuracy. 16:22 🎒 Sling necessity: Emphasizes the importance of a sling for every rifle, discussing mounting choices and personal preferences. 17:32 ⚖ Lightweight design: Despite added accessories, the rifle retains its maneuverability, highlighting its lightweight and competitive shooter-oriented construction. 21:18 🎯 Precision performance: Achieved impressive precision with 1 MOA accuracy at 500 yards, showcasing unexpected long-range capabilities. 22:25 🎯 Unique concept: The WWSD rifle offers a distinct and polarizing approach to AR-15 design, appealing particularly to competitive shooters.

People who think the 2A and Freedom only applies to certain groups and are subject to whatever magical mystery fictional religious character they devote their beliefs to when convenient are demonstrating a distinct lack of backbone and fundamental understanding.

Sweet load out. Your choice of using Swedish camo was perfect for that setting. And I noticed you opted for running a chest rig/ boonie cap combo (versus plate carrier/ helmet), which is great for saving weight and enhancing mobility. The camera work and editing was awesome. Loved the video, keep it up!

Nice! I built a WWSD inspired rifle on an old CAV-15 lower and absolutely love it. Same trigger as yours -- a glass rod! Mine's an ultralight build. 5 pounds. Such a joy to carry compared to a stranded rifle. Hope I can make it to Desert Brutality one day, so I can thank Russel, Carl, and Ian for the inspiration.

Glad to see Tacticool GF and others start to realize what peak performance looks like. I built myself an M4a1 sopmod clone 3 years ago and after realizing the thing weighed 12 lbs with all the attachments you come to the conclusion that lighter is just better. Got a kp15 lower with an H&R 604 upper. 20 inch rifle thats under 6 lbs unloaded!

I am a camouflage collector so as one of the top contenders for sure however I actually don't know what one would I like the most? I also just got some Romanian camouflage that's pretty dope looking and performs well under cold conditions as the pants are wool lined while the field jacket I got was the lightweight summer field jacket much like a czech woodland one but slightly heavier, I don't have the m90k field top yet but I got the real surplus m90k field pants. It's all environmental and weather dependent to me and also if I just woke up that morning casually and just wanted to wear something different I do so. Including mixing and matching or opposite etc. I actually wear what I collect out tbh it performs well for errands even and looks great, durable if you have a busy life style and big dogs even who may be nippy and tendency to tear cheap clothes.@@kingdomofvinland8827

I’m one of the autists that when I saw these announced I pre-ordered mine before they were available. I’m very happy with mine, though I went a different route with my build I run the lower with a wolf T 91 Piston Drive upper, fully kitted out I think I’m a 7 1/2 pounds which is extremely light for a piston upper AR, I bought a second one because it was green and I had to have it and I got a great deal on it off of GunBroker that already had the KE arms DMR trigger installed on it from the factory and it is amazing that is a super nice trigger there maybe 2 to 3 mm for the reset

Great take on the WWSD as an SPR type platform! I run a WWSD as my go-to carbine and enjoyed comparing my experience to how you are running yours. I also found suppressed that I needed to add the buffer weights. I love that with a 1-8 NX8, canted Holosun SCRS, Hyperion K can, 16" Criterion Core barrel w/ SA adjustable gas block, Arisaka scout light, sling, Slate Black grip stop and panels, small arca rail, and the buttstock full of spare batteries/tools that the weight is like 10.1 lbs. Oh, and that's loaded with a 20rd PMAG of 70gr Barnes TSX. Add my bipod on the arca and it's 11.1 lbs. Super capable carbine in a very hike-able package. Thanks for the thoughtful content, as always!

Awesome video! Really enjoyed both the intro content and the breakdown, as always you do a pretty thorough yet concise job, I've been curious about the WWSD rifle, and I think it's pretty cool that you went a kinda DMR route with it (which tbh is what I'm looking to do with an upcoming AR build) so that was a refereshing take over some super close CQB thing. Also, love that top!

My SPR upper sits over a KP15 with a drop in PSA trigger and a 45° selector that's now permanently installed, because I'm a goober and didn't realize you needed a proprietary selector switch 😅 Running a 20" HBAR and a Primary Arms SLX 4-16x44 in HUD DMR reticle, everything else is as absolutely lightweight as possible. Even the dot. Fully loaded, with sling, it weighs in at just under 10 lbs. It's more well balanced than my 16" midlength build, shoots much better, and handles almost as well. KE Arms makes a fantastic product. I cant recommend them enough.

I love my WWSD rifle. Built it from a stripped lower with KE’s parts kit and trigger pack, skipping the gucci captured recoil setup for a more milspec recoil spring and buffer. Upper setup is an Aero smooth side with Faxon 14.5 pencil barrel with the integrated muzzle device, Faxon’s CF handguard, their nitride BCG because I’ve had good luck with them. Add LPVO, light and sling and it’s all good. The only thing I would do differently if I started making it today with what I know now is I would have used a 16” pencil barrel with the separate muzzle device. The integrated flash hider kinda sucks at its job. But to get an overall weight of 7 pounds with a 1-8 LPVO and offset red dot is pretty cool. My “main” AR weighs that with a dot, MBUS irons, light and sling.

Very good review as to the why's. 👍 I have a BCM with all the new Mk2 stuff. Naked weighs 5.8 pounds. 16" ELW barrel. It's pretty descent with 77gr OTM stuff. Its not dead on 1 moa. But doesn't need to be for me. I'm running a GLx 1-6 in a PLx mount. With a Holosun top dot. With that setup and a Streamlight with clicky tail cap is still 9+ pounds. 🤷🏼‍♂️ Capability equals weight.

I really like this lower on my super lightweight build. Pretty much my only gripe about it is the non-captured takedown pins. I fully understand why it wouldn't work with captive ones, and in the grand scheme of things it's really minor, but when I'm under my workbench trying to find the one that made it's grand escape, I find myself grumbling a bit.

Technically this is not a competitive rifle and lots of competitiors have said that, like Josh over at 9 hole reviews. Competition race guns usually are desired to have a little weight, its not unusualy to see a base rifle unloaded by 8 pounds at least. The absorption of recoil by that weight is important. The WWSD by comparison is feather light. Furthermore, race guns often have finely tunable gas systems, and ultralight bolt carrier groups, where the WWSD has neither of these. The bolt carrier is essentially mil spec in weight, but chromed.

The ambi-mag catch in the WWSD is a Norgon style clone. These can have issues in the polymer lower cause they have more surface area and mass. A Troy ambi safety is better as it just has a lever bolted onto a milspec mag catch and has been great on my WWSD.
@SinistralRifleman

I’ve been using nothing but our Ambi mag catches in KP-15s for the last 3 years as a left handed shooter, and I haven’t been able to replicate the problems others have with them. This includes before we started making them with stronger springs. I also download pmags by 1 and USGI by 2, and push magazines in on every reload and pull to make sure they are seated. Ultimately I think right handed shooters shouldn’t bother with them as it seems to just cause them more problems including accidentally activating it going for the bolt catch.

I understand why KE Arms would issue them with these, from a manufacturing perspective you can simply make them and not be reliant on other companies. Personally, I find the Norgon style to be stiff and not very user-friendly. The Troy is my personal favorite on aluminum lowers, but Strike Industries makes a mag catch in the Norgon form factor that I find to be quite reliable in the KP-15 and is quite user friendly, not requiring nearly as much finger strength to release the mag compared to the Norgon or even the Troy.
