Thank you for the detailed video 👍 In the video you can see that a Fanatec CSL Elite pedals and wheelbase have been fitted. I wonder if all this fitted to the original mounting plates of the Challenge X. I would also like to install a Fanatec setting instead of a Logitech setting 😊
@SimulatedDrivingResource5 ай бұрын
All original. Only added some large spacers to decently attach the pedals. The pedal brackets offer alot of flexibility (inside or outside/inversed). Its not perfect but already a very decent system. For shifter holder I think you will need to buy one to attach to the pre-drilled hole.

I have the original challenge, and it's just very wobbly. Especially when slamming on the breaks, the whole thing just lifts into the air. This seems like it may be large enough of an improvement to upgrade.
@SimulatedDrivingResource5 ай бұрын
The mechanism for the pedals, despite the fact that the attachments are very much improved remains the same. There is no locking of the folding so you will still be able to lift the rig when breaking hard.
@Ubben19995 ай бұрын
@@SimulatedDrivingResource Ah, that’s unfortunate, thanks for pointing that out. I realise now you actually said so in the video, too, I just wasn’t paying all that much attention. @@Ubben1999 for sure. Its an improvement but if you already have a challenge, its not really worth the extra money. But since you can test it, you can judge. If you have the space, since its not foldable, the Trophy really is a good cockpit.
@Ubben19994 ай бұрын
@@SimulatedDrivingResource Ended up getting the Trophy. Expensive for a couple of tubes and a small tent to strap between ‘em, but it’s miles better than the challenge. Just being able to break confidently without worrying about the chair lifting into the air makes a huge difference for immersion and consistency. Very happy with it. Thanks for the input!

It is good to have an improved version. It looks better than the previous Challenge in the important places. As you say, the price tag is something. Especially when you compare it to a PlaySeat Evolution that is probably going to be a bit more rigid. But in case you don’t hav the space for a fixed setup, it could be compelling.

Would this provide a better experiance than a NLR wheelstand 2.0 and office chair? I have the Wheelstand 2.0 and despite the chair wheels being in the metal stopper so it doesnt roll the chair back still moves when braking with my v3 pedals. need the foldability so no proper setup unfortunetly.
@SimulatedDrivingResource5 ай бұрын
Yes it will. While a wheelstand is really handy I always felt like it lacked some immersion. You will sit lower, more in a position you would really sit in a car with it and because its 1 part, you will eliminate the sliding away part. One thing to keep in mind, while the wheelbase holder is not bad, it will be less sturdy than you are used to with the NLR. Nonetheless, if I needed to choose for a compact solution that needs to be folded and stored away, the Challenge X would carry my preference.
@TurboZHK8 ай бұрын
Before I switch to a Trophy, I had my V2 pedals set up on my original playseat challenge, if the brake force is above 15, every time I step on the brake, I will lift the whole chair up. Is that still a problem on the new Challege X?
@SimulatedDrivingResource8 ай бұрын
The Challenge X, no matter how good it is, is still a foldable system and the hinge part can't be locked so there is still a possibility to lift it when you brake really hard. I cant tell you how much it will take in terms of force though. The Trophy is much better in that perspective.

When the plate is reversed like in your video do the holes on the plate line up with the dd pro T-nut slots on all three slots or just the two outer ones? Also how did you mount the v2 pedals, which part is bolted on? Appreciate any feedback!
@SimulatedDrivingResource9 ай бұрын
When reversed, I fixed it with 3 so its Well attached. For pedals, the top brackets are reversed (turned outwards) and there are 2 holes that line up with the front 2 open holes of the elite v2'. This with the use of the spacers Locks them quite Well into place.
