Thanks for the review. I'm actually headed out in about an hour to go pick one up from my local dealership. This review wasn't the reason I got the car (truth be told the Elantra found me I didn't find it lol) but it helped me reaffirm my decision to get one. Which is greatly helpful as I'm nervous as heck seeing as how this is my very first BRAND NEW car. Thanks again from Canada.

The difference felt in the throttle in Eco mode was a placebo affect. In the Elantra the only thing the Eco mode does is activate the indicator light to indicate when you are driving in an economical manner.

It's interesting that at the end of your review you compare the Elantra to the Ford Focus. I actually test drove the Focus, the same weekend I bought the Elantra in Nov 2015. I do like the way the Focus handled, it really has a sportier feel to it, and it was great with a stick shift, but I also didn't like that there seemed to be reliability issues with the Focus. I also thought the the dashboard of the Focus was just bland, and had no character, but again, what it boiled down to me was reliability, and reviews that I had read, being that I want to keep my car as long as possible.

@pattycarljackson I think we both would agree that many people didnt look at Hyundai as they do now and the Genesis sedan was the car that really made people look at Hyundai in a totally different light, it did to me when I saw it for the first time at the Philadelphia Auto Show.

i got this car as a rental it was very fun to drive and was actually surprise on the horsepower that this 4 banger has, even loaded with 4 big men with the autostick ( i drive a charger). it was great on gas and I can feel every bump on the road. I would buy it as a commuter at the right price 18,000 for a hyundai I'm not sold. 15000 yes.

@nonameisftw I just turned in the Hyundai Accent, which is the twin of the Rio. They are two different cars, meaning that the Rio/Accent is a B-segment car, and the Elantra is a C-segment car. They both get about the same mileage (real world) and the Elantra will have more interior room. Check out not only what the price would be, but if there is a difference in insurance costs between the two for you.

@rumblestripradio Gotcha. But you also need to realize that most of your viewers will not be from Michigan hence 65 MPH will be the normal speed limit. I'm from Oakland county myself and realized a long time ago that Hyundais don't sell there. Even more so when the Waterford dealership shut down and turned into a Toyota dealership. I myself didn't even buy my Hyundai in Michigan, I bought it in TX wile living in OK. Just don't drive a car over the speed limit and expect it to meet EPA, it wont

@flatblackstrat13 жыл бұрын
A cars optimum speed for EPA fuel economy is 60-65 MPH, anything over that and you loose a large amount of the cars efficiency since it is not running at efficient RPMs. I would try to test your cars like that next time. Plus 70 MPH is the speed limit on most interstates in Michigan.

@DeXCarDoNa 15.400 for the base model and 21.000 for the Limited. If you wan't something in the middle be prepared to spend about 17.500
@toyota420xp13 жыл бұрын
tofast had the limited for 2 months and can say that the car is both good+bad. good: the sunroof, fold down rear seat leading into the HUGE trunk, the auto down/auto up for driver side window and love the heated seats. it only gets 40+ mpg if you are driving flat or decline no more than 65/70 mph, slightest incline and it drops below 32 mpg, (i avg ~25) cup holders on the doors are useless, a lot of the car feels cheap, speakers are junk and the int road noise is louder than my 5.4L F150.

@flatblackstrat My goal is not to get the highest mileage I can when I test cars, it's to try and drive it like it will be driven by the people who buy them, so that the numbers reflect what you get in the real world. The Speed Limit may be 70, but no one drives that slow. Cops won't pull you over unless you are going over 80. Driving 70 in South East Michigan causes road rage around here.

Backseats pretty decent room¬ anything record breaking or class leading???Ru kidding me?Because the backseats R probably the biggest in its class..lol.It may not look like it from outside cause of the curvy exterior.But once U get in its quite roomy.The leg room kills other cars like theFOCUS.Did U know that the backseats R bigger than the Nissan Maxima..lol???The Maxima is a Mid Size Sedan car & 1 class higher than the Elantra..lol.So YES it is record breaking:)

@grrgw6161 I never said it was slow. I have never driven one. I just don't like the way they look because the exterior is kinda to busy. I like the 2012 Focus Titanium sedan better.
