My brother is a Grand Rapids native and he goes to quite a few of the Griffin's games. He told me you could always see the hustle and work ethic in Shine's game and it's cool to see a guy get an NHL debut so late into their career. Couldn't be happier for him.

Lucas Raymond is becoming a superstar. 4 point night with another nasty pass to Cat to tie it. Dude will be a 100 point player in the next two seasons. Wings are actually decent/good under Todd. Not a coach bump, it’s a mindset shift. Go Wings. The fact that the Wings didn’t fold after Seider flub, is very impressive. The confidence is high under Todd.

It's not even simply that they're winning. It's also how they're playing in those wins. That 6-5 SO win against Buffalo in early December was brutal to watch. This team just is not the same.

We actually had an EBUG backup for the oilers today, university of Alberta golden bear goalie Tyler Palmer. He is 21, first year at the university, played 3 years in the WHL with Victoria and Everett, and parts of two seasons in the AJHL, from Fernie BC, he is have a very good year at the university with a 10-3 record, fourth lowest GAA’s at 2.08 and 10th highest SV% at .916. Almost 2 years to the day oilers had Matt Berlin step in, only Palmer didn’t get in because of close game. Skinner missed practice but was expected to still be good to go as a back up, but nope, as him and his wife welcomed there second baby boy to the world today. He didn’t play so no one will necessarily talk about it, but I thought it was cool, also was there at the game live, he had some sick moves, including a between the legs shot he put in top corner, maybe he gets signed one day similarly to Noah Philp, but time will tell for Palmer

Will Smith on the sharks is starting to play like they were hoping. Kinda like his NCAA season where it was a slow start, then turns it on mid season. Looks more comfortable, more confidence, doing the "little things" right. Successful season for him if he keeps playing like that more often than not in the remaining 29 games.

The Pens 5-3 win against Edmonton on Jan 9th foolishly had me thinking they could build some momentum and maybe go on a run. Since then, we’ve gone 2-7 while scoring a combined 8 goals in those 7 losses. Two of those vs the Kraken, one vs the Ducks and Sharks. Now I’m hoping for a top 5 pick. Life comes at you fast lol.

What a difference with Wings! The coaching has brought out the ability and refinement that was lacking prior to McClellan hire. ✅ As Kings fan..it seems the offensive depth is perhaps subpar. They have such a good team but the scoring pop is pretty much dependent on a handful of talented forwards. Foegle tho was a great add at beginning of season.

14:11 unfortunately I don't have all the data, but I do have the no mercy data readily available for past seasons. Last season, the Oilers were involved in the most no mercy games (13), 11 for and 2 against. Next closest no mercy wins were the Stars with 6, making the Oilers the biggest "bullies" by a landslide. Sharks had the worst result, with 0 wins and 11 no mercy losses. Amazingly, despite winning the Presidents Trophy, the Rangers were only involved in 2 no mercy games last year, where they lost to the Canes 6-1 and beat the Sens 7-2. Over the past 3 seasons, the Oilers are still the no mercy leaders, involved in 25 games, 21 for and 4 against. The Ducks are the worst team in this time frame, with only 1 no mercy win and 20 no mercy losses. Rangers are the most conservative team, with only 7 no mercy games in that time, 5 for 2 against. In this time, the Panthers have the best no mercy percentage, with 15 for and 2 against giving them a no mercy percentage of 88.2%. (Funny how the Oilers and Panthers are the leaders in these categories and were the finalists. Are Shannon's no mercy magnets a legit predictor? Jk.) In the salary cap era, the Rangers have the best no mercy percentage, being on the winning side of 69.1% of no mercy games. Since 1990, the worst no mercy team of all time is the 93-94 Senators, going 0-17. The best no mercy team by % is the 92-93 Islanders, going 10-0 in no mercy games. By wins alone it's a 3-way tie at 11, including last years Oilers.

Hearing the linesman yell "It was in the wrong hand" was hilarious but yeah, that stick was broken in half and IIRC there was another stick on the ice too. Good win by the Flyers but the Devils just looked like they were skating in wet cement all night. If it weren't for Allen the Flyers might have scored 6 or 7 and barely missed on a shorthanded pick pocket play in front of the net on that 4 minute minor. Hopefully they can repeat this performance on Wednesday night.

I genuinely wonder if Askarov's rough games were because he was still recovering from his illness. Like he had to be kept out of a game bc he lost too much weight due to illness apparently, and then the games he played after that were some of his worst. Like obviously it could be unrelated, sometimes players just have a bad night, sometimes the other team is just really good, but it is notable.

You did a video specifically talking about mcdavid and his suspension. I really would love to hear your take on kucherov and the play on Rasmussen. This is the kind of stuff the league needs to action on. They made an example of mcdavid, granted it was a face cross check..I get it.... But kucherov who may be one of the most talented players in the league but also one of the most violent and will injure you, if he can get away with it. Something needs to change. This is the kind of plat that is ruining the game.

i'm not one of those losers that blames the refs for everything, but good lord the officiating was absolutely egregious in the stl-van game (on "referee appreciation night" lmao). some of the worst i've seen in a while also the league really needs to get their story straight with goalie interference. holloway was trying to brake as he crashed the crease and hughes very clearly pushed holloway twice, once before he entered the crease and once more into lankinen as he was trying to get out of the way. all i am asking for is consistency in these calls (it won't happen) because it is quite literally a coin flip
