Interstellar Modeler Brilliant work friend. The design of this craft even back when the show debuted was incredibly life like and your customizations make it look even more realistic! I'd swear this design may have come from an actual real life design for such a craft that would be used on the moon. Pencil lines are very convincing too!

Thank you. I quite agree the Eagle is a timeless design.

i was eagerly waiting for this video. not a super fan of space 1999 but you can't deny how great the ship design was on that series

Luke Cornacchini I'd swear that the Eagle Transporter was possibly based on a real design for such a craft in real life!

My interpretation of the scale of this model, based on a space walk by Allan near the end of season 1, is that it is a true 1:48 scale representation. In this scale however, the central waist doors come out as only 5.5' tall, which is not forced by any obvious overhead restriction, so this is likely a small design error. The series 1:1 sets ignored this of course, showing 6 foot doors as you would expect... Even with the smaller size resulting from being 1:48 scale (and not 1:56 as some claimed), the model feels plenty large enough as it is, and if the figures were any smaller, they would look "lost" in the beak's design... As is, the beak is so large the seats should probably have significant height variable positions, to shift observation from above or below, something never shown in the 1:1 cockpit sets, and probably not really a visible feature if the lower beak windows were never used.

Amazing work, I'm just wonder can I get more info on the tulip black out paint that your using, I'm not sure which one to get and are you applying it with a brush or airbrush?
@InterstellarModeler4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for the compliment. It’s a fabric paint and the best way is to generously apply with a brush. Because of its consistency it will not go on evenly hence the need to apply several coats sometimes. Best thing is to back light your piece after each application has dried to see which areas need more coverage. It can be found at Michael’s, HobbyLobby or fabric store. Black is the best color to use for this. Hope that helps

Where did you get this? my eagle was from the 70's, no lights or blacked in cabin eyes but the cargo bay would detach! would love to own one of these. Design flaw in them, kept breaking the landing pods off

This is a model kit from Round 2 models. It's not only a larger scale than the old MPC kit but is more accurate. The model is still available for sale and can be found on sites such as culttvman.com and HDAmodelworx.com. All of the interior lighting has been installed by me. The build is divided into two videos which review the build and concludes with a final review of the completed model kit. Thanks for watching.

I absolutely loved this vehicle as an adult and child however I just took a first look at it in a while and noticed that the overall scale are really off and makes thing unrealistic.
@InterstellarModeler5 жыл бұрын
Yes....I'm afraid as with most sci-fi ships, one has to suspend reality and the Eagle is no exception. :) It would never fly but it sure looks cool
@MarkHayes-ue7hs5 жыл бұрын
@@InterstellarModeler It shows how pleased most of us were as kid up to adulthood with these crafts. The original Jupiter 2 was recently pointed out to me the impossibility of housing the Robinson's plus two the robot, chariot and space pod. Being a private pilot who dabbles in structural engineering I should have noticed. But I did not, at least until recently. Still love my sci fi big slash fantasy.
