Thank you for the review. I'm curious what kind of optic people use on their .22 rimfire rifles? Any suggestions?

Yup, as stated here by Jerry, 4x or a 2-7x. For my paper punching .22LR, I use a Burris Fullfield II with their ballistic drop reticle that has simple hold over hash marks. The Vortex Diamondback or Crossfire line is a real contender as well in the value end.

Al already mentioned, the two Vortex scopes would be good. They have a lifetime warranty. Leupold makes two rimfire scopes in the VX-Freedom line. I have one if those and it is a solid scope. Also with a lifetime warranty. Leupold is the more expensive option. Also already mentioned is a fixed 4 power. You have two options: get a cheap scope and hope for the best (usually warranty is limited or nonexistent), or get s brand name. With the brand name your pay as much as a variable power. Maybe it is smaller...

I've been pretty happy with the Primary Arms, fixed 6x .22LR scope; but I also prioritize being able to fit the rifle into the OEM bag, with the optic attached.

Have you had any point of impact shift when re attaching the barrel?

Wish mine would shoot like that, is all over the place

Make sure the nut holding the barrel in place is tightened down.

What's the purpose of taking it apart and putting it back together on every shot? I'm not familiar with takedowns. Thanks

The 10/22 has the scope on the receiver, and usually the barrel is fixed in the receiver. On the takedown, you can remove the barrel. If the barrel is not reinstalled in *exactly* the same way, then the barrel will no longer be aligned with the scope (point of aim vs point of impact will change). Taking off the barrel and putting it back on while shooting a group tests to see if the point of impact changes. If it does, then you will have to sight in the gun every time you take barrel off, which makes the gun kinda useless.
