I watch a number of restoration shows on KZbin and have seen a lot of people pointing. With respect to all of them (I could not do it at all), I have to say that I have not seen anyone pointing who does such a great job as Simon. Usually all of the adjoining stones are covered in mortar and have to be cleaned later. Simon seems to be able to point without messing up the adjoining stone. Must be the years of experience he has!

I am a 74 year old lady who is also a gardner and this was an exciting video for me. I have been patiently waiting for a garden transformarion. I loved the explore through the garden last week, finding all the fruit trees, the random flowers, etc. That big heavy-duty mower is a lovely thing!! Very interesting! 😊❤

Simon & Yannis that fireplace is looking absolutely amazing. The pointing work is excellent. Simon's work is clean & do appreciate the explanation he gives on why he does something. Yannis will go onto being a fully fledged restorer of plastering, pointing & not forgetting wood cutting to precision measurements & plasterboard. You two make a fantastic team. @@amysbees6686 the mower is called a "flail mower". They are manly used to cut grass type material and cutting to many sticks or hitting stumps will break the blades. A "brush hog" has large steel blades like a lawn mower but are a lot thicker and don't have as sharp of edge.

When people come back in 100 years and see the work you have done, they will know that you all took great care in what you were doing. Be not discouraged hang tight there is a light at the end of the tunnel, but that tunnel is another hundred miles long! I really enjoy your channel. Love the footage of Simon petting that sweet pup. Every jobsite should have a nice doggo. It's good for the crew and good for the nice dog. Amazing, as always, watching Yannis at work. We need more people like that. @ThePethericks Last week I was so excited to think that the convent's gardens would be restored, just like the building. It hurts my heart to watch Billy plow down plants that haven't even been researched and recorded, to know what was there. Some may not have even had chance to go to seed to give you a chance to save heirloom varieties that no longer exist. I am so sad and disappointed. 😩
