Stu, you’re starting 2025 with an excellent education on the importance of face-to-path numbers and learning to control it within 1-4 degrees both positive and negative. Keep up the fantastic content. Cheers

Happy New Year Stu🎉....great video.... I am impressed you were up bright and early to post this 😬.....gotta guestion for you....when you manipulate your face to path on the mat there, what is your swing thought?.....is it just a matter of different timing with your release?.....thanks so much ⛳🍺

Hi Gary, it's a mixture of wrist angles, foot work, handle pull and body speed. Hope that helps and Happy New Year!

Wonderful stuff. Any chance you could, for us newbs, post something about the transition from "game-improvement" clubs, to something a bit more workable? My six, for example, has a 24 degree loft (Callaway Big Bertha, 2023), which is more like a traditional 5. And I can't really stop any of these irons, thus I have to hit them short and allow for a lot of roll, which can produce unexpected and uninvited results. However, no one is going to confuse my swing with one of a talented player. So where's the middle ground, here? I'm obviously not ready for blades, but I can hit my six 170+ when I hit it well.

Lance, that comes down to fitting more than swing technique my friend.

@@GoodGolfCoaching "Fitters" seem to be kind of a racket, to me. I mean, they seem to think I'm Elon Musk.

Some aren’t, and a good fitting is worth its weight in gold.

Great first video of the new year Stu 👏🏾👍🏾 This is exactly what I am struggling with with the driver 😢 I consistently have an open face between 2 - 5 degrees even when I have a super strong grip 🤷🏾 Happy New Year Stewart, looking forward to the new content. I might even get to see you in person as I have a driver fitting with Simon on February 22nd 😁

So if I'm hitting pull draws face is closed to path, and blocks face is open to path? Would you recommend aiming further right and owning the pull draw or something else to master push draw?
@GoodGolfCoaching7 күн бұрын
Absolutely realign the body to target and play with it!

@GoodGolfCoaching Tiger did that the first time he won at Firestone. He played a pull draw for 4 days and nobody caught it until he mentioned it in the presser. Crying shame on all the talent he once had

Happy new year 🎉…my FTP number changes with the length of shaft…+ numbers shorter irons…-numbers longer irons and woods…distance is less with -numbers…strike location on face is still king tho with distance..grip or ball position?…maybe a question for a Monday night too Thanks Stuart 👍🏻

Face to Path is always king in the lomng run my friend.
@markrowley43977 күн бұрын
I’ll try to test that in my next trackman session..FTP and strike on face..if FTP is good and toe strike what it does to numbers…interesting my friend

No idea what my face to path angle is,my guess would be slightly open face slightly left path as i hit it very straight, i also have a crap backswing which looks like golfers from 100 yrs ago that swung whilst wearing a jacket! But i have good rhythm and co ordination and a great follow through so score reg mid 70s at an old age So NY res is to have a go on one of these machines now i know F to P is key and try and get some sort of normal backswing

Ok from my limited divot analysis i would say my FP value is to good/straight as my divots when made, tend to be long shallow and straigh I think this robs me of distance as my driver carry is 210 i do slightly fat or thin it but you can get away with this espec with hybrids!
@GoodGolfCoaching8 күн бұрын
Hi Graham, divots unfortunately tell you very little about your face to path sadly..

Why was it that when the face to path was -1.6, the side was 32’4”L and when the face to path was 1.8, the side was only 3’10”L?
