I got to say the wife said I got emotional when I seen that back window go down or move and this is why, I was put together December 23rd 1963 and I pictured my sister and I when we was about four or five years old with our knees into the back seat looking out that back window and my grandma driving us to the Dairy Queen or the Taco Bell what is her favorite. Oh yeah and the Piggly Wiggly in Harlan County Kentucky because that's where we are originally from. Everytime I hear that song I'm going to buy me a Mercury that's the car I think of it's pretty funny really but I want to say thank you young man when I seen that window move I moved so God bless you young buck and we are waving our hand from Dirty Old Kentucky Corbin to be exact and God bless.

Honestly, I don't think it's bad at all. For me, it has to be so far gone that the car needs to be rebuilt from scratch before I'd give up on it. There's really not much you can't repair if your heart is in it. And american steel isn't common these days. Nearly every car can be and should be saved. We are never gonna have these again. Love the channel keep it going!
@RevStoration3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Philip. I agree that these cars are a dying breed. The issue always comes down to the dollars verses the return. The Montclair completed verses the cost to get her there may not be an equation that make sense. She has a bunch of positives and a few negatives working against her.

Paul, it cleaned up fairly well. The inside is still a petri dish of all kinds of plague and the such. It needs to be cleaned up and then move on to the major issues.

You should watch old car washing videos. AMMO had good ways to wash old cars.

@@RevStoration I love your jokes. I say them to everyone. I restore old cars when I can but with detailing old paint and bringing it back to life is an art. I seen VGG use danish oil on a rusty car. Came out great. Get some detail brushes and clay bar. Use some steal wool on the chrome.

Ha quedado mucho mejor lavado. Me encanta ese auto tiene algo señorial. Tratare de coincidir con tu video en vivo. Yo entiendo inglés pero no lo escribo tan bien . Me gustaría saber si has leído mis mensajes. (Calculo usarás el traductor) de ser así continuaré escribiendo en castellano . Si no haré mi mejor esfuerzo en escribirte en inglés. I took the passenger side door panel off after spraying PB Blaster didn't work and the flat spring on the mechanism was broken. I think the other doors can be lubricated like you said. Thanks for watching as always.

That is the worst part of the rig.. frame directly in front of the back axle is barely holding on.

The rear window was engineered to only roll down about 2 or so inches for safety reasons. Also, use Windex and steel wool to clean the film and water spots off the glass windows.

Wrong! The back window rolls all the way down. I know because I rode in a '65 Mercury for years as a kid, on my knees on the back seat looking backward.
