Your teammate saying he isn't used to healing a Sombra is something I noticed in my games yesterday! Everyone is so used to Sombra kind of being self-sufficient with health packs, but her new playstyle really requires a little love from supports that people haven't picked up on yet. I often had to ping to ask for heals even when in front of the supports because they just don't see Sombra as like a healing target LOL

I wouldn't even say it was the health packs, it was more translocator just leaving when low, so supp had no incentive to heal her (plus she generally wouldn't be in supp sightlines anyway)

​@SixNineFourTwenty pretty much camp your sup or team until the enemy sombras pushes with in my opinion is super boring if u know what to do u can easily engage( tho u have a short time to pull it off) first and still get benefit I rather make the enemy sombra waste time babysitting he's teammates gives me more time to bea distraction if I play ir correctly Overall I end up getting more benefits than a sombra camping me and following me 24/7 Example If u notice enemy sombra is babysitting then go for tank instead of back line n then sup etc Overall most of the time u will provide mor value than a sombra babysitting ( atleast most sombras I have fought dont do nothing because they are to focus on babysitting )

Which old sombra though lol? She’s been unplayable to me since OW2 hack changes. I hardly saw her in any games because her dps is SO low. Whenever I was in a lobby with her I’d sigh because it was almost a guaranteed loss - occasionally I’d see a Sombra that would POP OFF and borderline carry the game, but definitely was the minority of sombra players.!

Too many Sombra players would just skulk around stealthed trying to assassinate the backline, TL out immediately the moment they take even a pellet of dmg, and then, because they placed their TL way too far away, take too long to reengage.

Every now and then I still accidentally throw a virus on respawn out of habit. It's taking a little to get used to, but I'm really liking the new Sombra. You just really need to pick engagements carefully and have a plan to escape if things go south. Definitely more challenging to play her, and that's a good thing. She can actually hold her own now rather than needing your team to follow up on literally anything you do. I think the EMP nerf was terrible though. Her hack doesn't have the damage boost anymore, so it doesn't make much sense to weaken EMP. Also, I don't like that she stands still when you throw the Translocater. Maybe it's just a bug I'm experiencing, but it makes it too easy to get killed when the point of the ability is to escape.

you're supposed to combo emp with the virus, that's why the damage was nerfed it does feel like it relies a lot more on team follow up to get value though imo standing still when you throw translocator is definitely a bug, doesn't happen for me

@@fiona9891 Woohoo, one probable kill. What a great value for AN ULT. You're completely missing the point. Her Ult used to deal 40% to every hero hit, AND EACH OF THEM TOOK MORE DAMAGE FROM SOMBRA. So now they all take less damage up front, and you can follow up with a skill shot to maybe get one kill? That's a severe nerf for no good reason.

Health packs are your best friend. Sombra needs to play around them now, just like a Tracer would. Hacking the closest pack to wherever you want to position is going to be a strong play.

I'm really liking the rework. It's taken a bit to get used to the new playstyle, but now you can much more effectively oneclip people. Hack then virus then shoot for as long as you can before you have to escape. It's SUPER CRITICAL to hit the virus but if you do (and avoid the sleep and nade and suzu) you can get very fast kills. The other critical point is you have to throw your TP carefully. Screw up the throw and they'll catch you easy, so even if you're being shot, take your time to throw precisely as get as far away as possible. Also, hack lasts long enough that you can hack then TP to go invis then still have time to virus + shoot once they no longer know where you are.

Loving the Sombra rework. Way more engaging and fun to play and easier to get into a repeatable rhythm. EMP is a bit weak now, but it’s a fair trade off. I wish they’d give her a few charges of virus when she EMPs to give her ult an element of skill and extra DPS, that would be so fun!

I find this rework interesting, she still feels impactful but tanks that were heavily impacted by her originally (I.e Ball, Doom) have a better chance against her since they can chase her down without facing much consequence. I’d like to see where this goes in two weeks.

I hardly ever played Sombra before this rework because i thought her gameplay loop was boring for the most part and the necessity to coordinate with a team in lower elo with randos was near impossible. Now she is far more engaging and solo fightable both playing as and against.

i much prefer this rework compared to before. this applies to both playing as and against sombra. Shes so much more engaging to play, her kit flows a lot nicer and there's less set up to mess around doing. in saying that, shes lethal but not as much of a pain to play against because she can actually die now if her kit isn't used properly. So fun

If I could improve her rework, I would give her translocator a 3 secs frame to adjust your view and then hit translocate again to move. Often times I would throw translocator and tried to look back but I couldn't look quick enough.
