Clean. Been A CB main for that last 3 games but Wilds had me doubting it a little bit with the changes to savage axe they've made. Sure it's harder to proc but at least now it lasts longer and stays even if you sheath.

For savage axe, what are you personally doing to use focus mode to look around and get the savage axe hits? Can you just hold R2 so it frees up the right stick to aim?

This is kinda tricky. I'm going to do my best to explain. I hold L2 , and tap the L3 stick with my left thumb in the direction that I want to swing + Circle (on the right thumb). Then, once I start swinging in that direction, I let go of the left stick and move my left thumb over to the right stick to direct the focus mode camera. The whole time, I'm holding on Circle with my right thumb to sustain the Savage Axe hit. I may need to do a video in the future to show how it looks.

Coz I couldnt figure out how some youtubers can do precise target/aim while holding Circle to maximize dmg (animation of axe is that it gets stuck in monster body). So now I know my left thumb needs to do both L3 and R3. Appreciate it.

How are you going into savage axe so easily. I can only get it through weakpoints and it doesnt last. What are your go to combos? What do you use for radial menu selections?

U can get into savage axe by perfectly blocking as well then follow it up with triangle

3 ways to get into savage axe: weak points, perfect guard then y or Triangle, or mount finishers.

@@lilkhmer5 Once you are in savage axe mode, do you then "hold" the atk buttons, so the axe stays a bit in the monster ? Cause when I use savage axe, the axe swings quicker through the monster then in this video shown.

@@ELITE0812 Playing on PS5 right now. 1) Savage Axe Mode: Perfect Guard->Triangle, Focus Strike on weakpoints, or mount finishers. You can replenish it by making more weakpoints and focus striking again. 2) Combos: In Axe mode, I like using Rushing Element Discharge (Circle) -> Element Discharge II (Circle). 3) Radial Menu: Luring pods and flash pods for sure need to be on there to keep them from running away. Traps and tranq bombs for quick capture too.

Is it useless to charge the sword? Only axe and shield?

For this hunt axe and shield is pretty much all you need for damage. You want to be in Charged Axe mode most of the time.

@@MrFlayz Gotcha. Well first let me explain what charging your sword does. Charging your sword gives your sword mode "Mind's Eye" which means that your attacks will not bounce off any part of the monster no matter your sharpness or the monster's armor. In addition, you get extra phial damage from each swing of the sword. This helps with applying KO damage to the monster's head if your Charge Blade is Impact Phial type. (There are also Element Phial types) You usually want to charge your sword mode if you're playing Super Amped Element Discharge (SAED) style Charge Blade since you'll want to replenish your phials ASAP to keep using SAED. But it's more difficult to use SAED style in Wilds as opposed to the previous MH games so it's not entirely necessary.
