After doing the focus strike, does rolling out of it for the typical charge attack sequence always do more damage than the TCS follow-up you can do?

So one thing i noticed about focused strikes are that they have a chance to topple the monsters, but its not guaranteed. So, if the monsters are toppled or KOed , sure go for TCS. If not and if the monster is preparing for an attack, prepare to dodge, block or do offset attacks to counter. It's very scenario and your personal choice dependent.

After playing arounf a bit more, TCS barely seems worth it in general. It has the same end lag as always but doesn't seem to do drastically different damage than chaining the faster and safer charges. I don't know if I ever really flinched a monster with it like what is seen in the other games with it, either, making it possibly riskier than normal with less reward.

@@takenusername3134 Yeah they undertuned it for sure; it's almost the same damage as the second slash while having huge recovery frames. It's only for fun if the monster gives an enormous opening (e.g, toppled) and even then, you probably still lose on DPS.

Rising Offset deserves to be nerfed, either the stagger cooldown needs to be increased or the damage needs to be reduced. Seeing literally zero TCSs in a Great Sword hunt is unacceptable.

The opposite is true TCS needs a drastic buff. As it stands it's entirely too weak and has a lower motion value than Hammer. That's why it's not being used. Edit: idk how I missed this. It does 13!! more damage than the damn strong charge?!!! Why Capcom wtf???

TCS needs to do like 10% MORE damage, or to have it's recovery frames reduced to match the charge slash, or to be given a counter window mid slash, like offset and tackle. I could also see offset charge doing slightly less damage. I don't think it needs to do the same damage as a normal charge slash.

I’m sorry but this sucks not once when did you stun the monster were you given even time to charge 3 times into a true charged slash. This game feels like a downgrade for great sword compared to monster hunter world. It reminds me of monster hunter rise where the pretty much forced you to use those light bug things. Where are the true charge slashed timed with the monsters moves you know. Def not impressed and and I think the same importance will be on those new mechanics than the classic great sword we got in mhw. This just feels like a ps5 monster hunter rise imo when truth be told we just wanted a ps5 monster world/ice borne

True slash does low damage, we don't need the monster to stay stunned anymore. The new greatsword is amazing. It's every buff I ever wanted
