Any chance you'll ever do a documentary of SGGG (Segagaga) for the Sega Dreamcast? Somewhat an iconic Dreamcast game now even though many don't fully understand it in the west, that was a main title showcased on the recent Dreamcast documentary uploaded by Archipel titled 'A Dream cast part 1'. You could maybe get some help to get Jimmy Hapa to do a translation, the last two attempts have slowed down and seemingly given up.

Well Rez is of course formally a game, but it's in the end less of a game but more an intense audio-visual experience with game-play elements integrated. Child of Eden is very much the same, (but imho less good). His most "mainstream" and most unquestionably most successful game is probably the Lumines series, which is in principle just a Tetris clone with audio-visual effects, pumping soundtrack and rhythm- based gameplay mechanics thrown own. A large degree of "modernized" variants of old classics, like Tempest 2000/3000/4000, Space Invaders Extreme I, II or Pac-Man Championship Edition ripped their audio-visual upgrades to a large degree from Rez.

Yeah, there's not much that gets me as focused on a simple task as Rez does. It's so simple, yet absorbing to sweep the cursor around and listen to the sounds play back as you fire off volleys of shots at enemies. I can definitely see how it would be beneficial for PTSD as it's very gratifying and not remotely stressful.

I think it's a darn shame that Complete Histories like this aren't the ones pulling in the big numbers like you said because if I'm being honest, it's specifically the ones like this, when you cover some game series I'm not familiar with or in some cases have never even heard of, that I KNOW I'm in for a great video. Stuff like this, Bounder, Mr. Nutz, some of your best videos in my opinion have been the ones where it's not some big famous series, because I know the video is purely a passion project at that point, and it's always a treat.

Could you cover Rez's prequel, "Child of Eden"? It's also an absolutely stunning experience. It uses a cheesy tactic to pull in the player more by having a pretty pop star being the character you need to save (in the game, she's an AI who runs Eden) but that hardly detracts from the experience. Some levels are so gorgeous that I actually teared up at certain points. And that End Credits song . . . I don't know if I've heard many songs in my lifetime which are so beautiful.

Both of which were the intentions of Rez/Child of Eden's creator, Tetsuya Mizuguchi. I played it first on ps2 i never saw it DC stateside. Back in 2013 i was working for xbox cst svc. And we had a wall of xbox 360s and ones close to the call floor. We would use them to check for outages etc but of course they were available during break or lunch. I converted soooooo many of my coworkers to rez and jet set radio. Rez was always an easy sell the music visuals everything just draws you in.

Amaing video content as always. Its a shame that video games will not be as experimental as the 6th gen (Dreamcast,Gamecube,PS2, and OG Xbox) used to be.

I love Tetsuya Mizuguchi's games! He's such a legend he makes games better than Fortnite.

Lol it’s kind of unfair to compare lumines Rez and child of Eden to fortnite, it’s a totally different kind of game
