For someone like me who grew up watching these legends this was a brilliant game, it really captured the essence of the mid 80s to early 90s wrestling, the mini chain games within the matches was a great touch. The biggest criticism I have is that there where some major characters missing but it still gets a solid 8/10 from me.

I grew up in the 80s & 90s, and I never could get into this type of wrestling. Since I’ve grown older, I’ve learned to sincerely appreciate the amount of training, choreography, and overall skill these people put in. It’s like staged stuntmen sessions live! So, having good video games depicting this form of entertainment seems like a VERY worthy idea! By the way RGT, happy birthday good sir!

Yuke's a legendary dev, that has made tons of fun titles. I never played this one, but I remember Hulk Hogan's wild matchups. But to see tons of unforgettable characters featured in one game. That is pretty cool

I didn’t like the character designs or controls. The designs were promoted as “the stars of the past how you remember them!” Yes, they were larger than life when we were kids, but considering the game’s target demo, it’s a little cartoonish. I think the CAW was solid and I remember creating Ricky Steamboat and importing his Allan Parsons theme.

The thing that was so stupid was this feature they had in the Legends Of Wrestlemania where you could transfer every wrestler from Smackdown vs Raw 2009 to Legends Of Wrestlemania but you couldn't transfer all the Legends to Smackdown vs Raw 2009. That would've been such a beneficial feature but wwe dropped the ball again.

Sucks i really wish play doink vs british bulldog or vader vs yokozuna vs viscera or ted dibiase sr vs ted dibiase jr. Why did they only do 09 import in legends of wrestlemania but why no legends import in svr 2009. They should update svr 2009 in march if they did that svr 09 would be one of the best wwe games

Yeah, PS3 version still sitting on my shelf. I'm a trophy hunter, as well as a life long wrestling fan...so my very first Platinum trophy came from Smackdown vs. RAW 2010...so from that point my milestones were always WWE games. My 1st, 25th, 50th, 75th Platinums were all WWE games. And I was working on WWE 2K17 to be my 100th Platinum at the time, but after spending nearly 100 hours in career mode only to realize I hadn't even touched the online yet, which estimated to take nearly another 100 hours...I gave up on it, just didn't want to play it anymore. But I needed that WWE game as Plat 100....so I bought this and got the Plat in it. Legends of WrestleMania was the big 100.

Best part of this game? If you have a smackdown vs raw 2009 save file on your system, you can import that games entire roster into legends of wrestlemania!

It came out on 360 way before ps3 for some reason. I was always a psx guy but being such a huge wwf fan i got my buddy who worked at the local pawn shop to sell me a 360 for what they paid for it. Then once it came out on ps3 i sold it back to the pawn shop for what i paid for it haha.

Old school wrestling games were the best, i play the 2k series but it isn't the same as the classics, like psone and N64 era. Seeing Brett Vs Austin brings back memories, great match and a double turn pulled off to perfection.

I enjoyed the game . I still have it for the ps3 and still dust it off a few times a year. Great game, only thing dragging it down was the controls weren’t very good. You couldn’t just do a finisher it required a chain of 3 other moves leading up to the finisher and you had to hit the right button as it flashed on the screen or you couldn’t complete the move set and your meter would fall back a whole level so you wouldn’t immediately get another chance . You’d have to get the meter back up before you could try again. But overall a great list of characters from the golden age of wrestling 😎

Funny story. I was excited for this game. I was in a Walmart on the Friday before it was supposed to be released so they had them on the shelves already. The guy in the electronics section couldn’t scan it and he couldn’t figure out why. I kept my mouth shut at first, then he called over the manager who couldn’t figure it out either. I sadly had to tell them it’s because the game isn’t supposed to come out until this Tuesday 4 days from now. They apologize for the mixup, and said they would take them off the shelves right away. So I had to come back and buy it the next week. The reason for the controls I heard was because they knew it would attract a lot of older wrestling fans like myself, so they wanted the controls more basic so anybody could pick it up and play it.

I got it for PS3 love it I wish they would’ve had some maybe pass lady wrestlers maybe even attitude era Trish Lita, Victoria, Molly Holly that would’ve been cool to add that in there. It does suck that the SmackDown roster that was in this game the ones the smaller characters you’re talking about it’s about the female wrestlers couldn’t be in there too so that’s the only downside to it but it’s still pretty cool game though.🕹️🤘🤘

What really killed it was WWE 2K14 which gave us the WrestleMania Showcase mode and the legends roster. That game was what this game should have been. And had many of the same characters plus the current roster but with more content.

Oh, this game. I remember for years when fans online would ask THQ to do a SmackDown vs. Raw game, but with legends, and we got this instead. I got it for the PS3 when it came out, but ended up getting it for the 360 as well because of a stupid bug/glitch in the PS3 version that would screw up any custom music you tried to use for entrance themes. The game could have been something great, but the "brain trust" over at THQ decided to go with things like simple controls (just the 4 face buttons), because who doesn't like having run and pin be the same button, right? And "Quick Time Events" to do a Finisher?🙄There were other issues too, but things like the roster were out of THQ's hands. I mean, how the hell do you have a game covering the first 15 years of WrestleMania, but not have the Macho Man? Yet Michael Hayes, who never wrestled at a WrestleMania during this time period is in the game instead? Overall, I found the game to be a disappointment, and don't touch it anymore. Thankfully, 2K would get it right with WWE 2k14, a game that pretty much makes Legends of WrestleMania irrelevant. I recommend playing that instead, because it's awesome, and has plenty of Macho Madness!!!

Was never into wrestling but I did find WCW nWo Thunder pretty fun on the PS1. Granted only played the demo but it was fun for what it was. I did see this game in stores a lot and thought it looked interesting but never picked it up. I find wrestling pretty interesting but its not my thing and am not going to pretend I'm into it. If I were to be honest I rather try to wrestle then watch it. Then again I don't find watching sports that interesting then playing them.

I rented it and actually hated the controls. Ill own my part Im disabled and not good at button mashing so some of the objectives like the hogan warrior test of strength were impossible for me. Plus the gameplay just felt off i didn't enjoy it and never went back to it again.

This game is forgotten for a good reason. You can't and I mean CAN'T have a celebration of the golden era of WWF and not include the Macho Man. No Hogan vs Macho Man, no Steamboat vs Macho Man, no Ultimate Warrior vs Macho Man. Look if you can't get the license for the person that was 25% of the golden era don't make a game about the golden era of wrestling. It's just not worth it.
