As a learner i can totally agree with you. And your last point was just chef's kiss. I literally follow the same thing every time i started with a new language. People focus too much on writing skills but if you are learning any language for communication purpose then i think listening and speaking skills matters more. Develop your observation skills and Korean isn't hard. Nice aesthetic and cute voice!♡

I have B1 level in Mandarin Chinese now, and I still cannot write without the help of a computer. However, I can communicate very well and understand very well what people tell me. I will learn how to write later. I feel more fulfilled this way.

i haven't really put any time into studying Korean. I did learn to read 한글 somewhen before 2015 but since then i haven't really done anything :"D i don't want to whine about how good i could've been by now, cuz i don't see why that would help me. I guess what I want to say is, it's never too late to learn something new. You're not too late to learn a new language if you're older than 25 (they say it is easier to learn languages when you are younger) and you're not to late to start a new hobby, switch your profession or pursue another career. Do not think about what other's may think. Do it for yourself. I know that not everyone is able to do so, there are multiple reasons that could lead to you pursuing something you don't want to do (e.g. studying something you do not want to study) but have to do in order to make money etc. but i want you to at least reconsider. If it doesn't make you happy, and you do not see the capacity in yourself to just pull through, please, stop whatever you're doing and pursue YOUR dreams, your goals, your life. Do not try to make anyone happy if it's going to harm your mental health. Do not try to please anyone with your decisions but live for yourself. Take care everyone, stay safe and warm :"D thank you for the video

6:30 I like everything she said from there to the end! Shes absolutely right babies dont have subtitles they just keep listening, and after a while they start to absorb the language and start speaking in it. as a dramaholic i always watched in English subtitles for everything, after 2 years almost 3 since its almost 2022, I do understand halfy fluently in korean, I know a few words.. but I cannot read In korean or speak in korean. witch is what i want to understand more and the first time i watched without subtitles i already understood a fair amount, I was shocked how i knew everything they were saying. and the film was quite old. i had to translate for my Older brother because there were no subtitles and he didnt understand Korean. But i will say having Korean subtitles and listening in korean is better than having english subtitles. you dont have to understand just like she said Babies dont have subtitles when there little right? they absorb! and i think whats important is that you try to understand. hear what there saying and then try adapting to korean subtitles. because i think reading is more important, then you will start to be able to read, and write. and after it wont take you long before you can speak. So i think that method is absolutely the top to go. watch in korean subtitles and listen in korean. if you want to try and understand look around, look at the visual, the scene. slowly after a while you'll understand! hope that helps! ^^

I'm fluent in english and have a c2 certificate from the cambridge exams. I'm 16 and was fluent at the age of 11. I learned English at school when I was 8, but watched English movies and songs my entire life. That's basically how I learned English. I think 40% of my skills came from school. It was usually grammar and extra words that I learned there. But still a good 60% including grammar and extra words came from the internet. I also have 6 weeks of extra "training", because I have a native English friend whom/who I hung out with during school breaks. You could probably learn Korean the same way I did, but I'm guessing since most of the people watching this are in their teens, it might take a little bit longer. Hangul is pretty easy though, so that's not really a big issue.
