I'm so glad more things like this are coming out on news outlets. I was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis at 9 months old, and things like this were mostly only for old people when I was growing up. That's still the misconception, but this is a start

RA is pretty brutal. I’m met patients unable to feed themselves because RA deformed their joints.

I have researched RA and have lived with RA for17 years. It has been my largest battle in life and my greatest teacher! Most of the meds are temporary fixes and cause you to age quickly...liver spots, bone loss, teeth loss. I have had over 5 doctors and most dont understand the pain. my mother also has ra she got it very young. lately I've been trying to understand this disease. She has very mild pain sometimes, but her knees are inflamed. So, I don't really know if she should those scary medications. Scary stuff. I hope they find a cure soon.

There is no cure. And there are blood tests to test for it, but blood tests don't fully determine RA. There are two types of RA. Seropositive and seronegative. Seropositive means you have strong rheumatoid factors in your blood. Seronegative means you don't have those factors, so a seronegative diagnosis goes more by symptoms than blood test.

Rheumatoid arthritis is a extreme pain!!! And it can effect lungs, eyes , heart ,skin and drs need to explain it better. Ive lived with rheumatoid arthritis for 17 years .
