I love that you don't shy away from complex notions and then how clearly you present them. That, in and of itself, isn't easy. Thanks for putting these lessons out there.

Thanks a lot, you're the first person to acknowledge the difficulties of explaining all the nuances. All the time as I'm teaching these songs I'm thinking to myself 'God, how an earth is anyone going to understand this'. So it's really nice to hear that it's coming across ok. Cheers.

This is such a great video man. Clean, clear, and stupidly concise - he wastes no time getting right into the fingerpicking 5 seconds into the video! Thank you for your service and keep it up! :)

Chris, I follow a lot of teachers on You Tube and I've learnt a lot as a result. Your channel however, is miles ahead of most. I really appreciate the effort you put into your teaching having learnt loads from you. Cheers, Martin.

Love your channel, it's the best. I'm just getting into fingerstyle. Always been into metal, still love it, but I find myself wanting to play folk music nowadays. Keep up the good work. God bless you brother.

Great video! I thought I learned this ages ago, only to realize I've been playing the bass notes (timing) wrong all this time. This like juggling with one hand, while signing your name with the other. Lol

Thanks Chris, yeah that bass line is tricky. I love the subtlety of it.

Love this version of Rhiannon. I'm having some difficulty with the first chord shape of the chorus. I'm having a fair bit of trouble with avoid any buzzing or muting in the thin E string when the thumb is on the thick E string on the 8th fret. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to overcome this?
@BucksMusicJourney3 жыл бұрын
Don't know if you're still interested in an answer after 8 months, but I can't lay my index finger flat on the 1st and 2nd string. I switch between those strings back and forward. Works Just fine. I'm having trouble with the note on the 7th fret of the 3rd string. I have to give up the previous chord shape. I have small hands and can't get the stretch Chris does. But I give up the thumb chord there. You have to work with what you got.

Where can I find the tabs? Think that would help a lot and where can I learn the rest of the song you’re playing?
@peopleontrees93483 жыл бұрын
Probably too late but I hope someone replies. How do you sustain the notes so long and loud in the outro? I see Chris hits the strings once then does a pull off, hammer on, slide, slide back and another pull off! How do I make it sound like he does?
