I would cut the bar close to the vertical as possible . IMO

Just a heads up, i would take out or completely cover the harness so you don't get melted spots from sparks. I had some knuckle heads put my swing out bar in and i had to throw stuff in so they wouldn't burn spot stuff and they still did.

Good tip… I was being lazy and since the harness were way out of date and in need of replacement I tossed them right after for new.
