Nice captured ring goblet Rod but something was missing, huh can't put my finger on it though, to bad the soothing voice of the narrator was not there to let us know, LOL Thumbs up as always, Have a great weekend !

You hit the nail on the head. The million dollar voice is a big part of the immersive experience watching Rod's videos. Great work on the goblet.

You have been missed. Hope all is well. BTW that was not firewood. It was just a piece of wood looking for a project. 😃 It found a good one. You just have to love the cedar. You certainly did justice to this piece. 👍I miss your commentary though. Thank you for sharing. Have a great 2022 and stay safe.

What a transition from a piece of firewood to a beautiful goblet. As you know I live in Ireland and it's a fairly recent tradition to make a goblet with two captive rings to be presented to the bride and groom at their wedding. It's meaning is that the two captive rings represent the couple who are now inseparable. I've made some and they go down really well with the happy couple. Semper Fi.

What a beautiful goblet! You out did yourself on this. Eastern Red Cedar is one of my favorite woods to turn. In my experience, I find that it best to finish with an oil based finish either man made or Natural. A Shellac base with lacquer top coat is my favorite!
