Like so many videos on this theme ... no explanation of what the pocket is

Playing both lead and rhythm at the same time, is the trick many can't do. That's where picking comes in handy. Love the teaching !!

I was surprised that you didn't mention the good old foot tap, because you do use them here. If you can autonomously keep your feet going steadily that's a huge help. Also, with a slow tempo like this (because the tempo was really 70 bpm) it's a good idea to tap eights. Anyway, love the videos!

Foot tap is not going to help provided you ain't the best drummer. If you would try to record your foot taping to the metronome you would see that almost every single time your taps are going to be off tempo.

Well, I do happen to be a drummer, but I disagree steadily tapping your foot in time is a hard thing to learn. Just like basic picking and fretting it is just something you have to get in your system, and after awhile it won't require any attention. I know for me it helps a lot with pauses, keeping a steady tempo, etc.; the kind of stuff you especially need with rhythm guitar.

What I was looking for! Thanks! Asked myself wich components create the groove. I miss the aspect of accentuating certain notes, for the dynamic of the groove, not been mentioned.

How do you know when to play and how to lock in with the singer and other guitarist in a band? My timing sucks.

I really dig your lessons and would love to hear your take on how to hear chord progressions by ear? How would one practice that skill and how did you learn it?

Hey man! Definitely a lot of repetition so I understand where certain notes are on the fretboard by muscle memory. However, the course I teach called Guitar Super System shows all the chords of the major scale as well as a variety of other great chords and how to implement them in your own guitar playing. Here's a coupon if you're interested: 50% off the 5-star rated Guitar Super System: bit.ly/GSS50off
