Climb mechanism on the first bot is super slick, and I love the complexity of the coral scoring piece on the second bot. Well done!

Two incredible robots, another amazing year from yall

Coming from PSU Ri3D, I love the creativity on your mechanisms. The low bot has a neat way to knock off the algae, and the high has a cool climb and can score net

Both Robots are amazing! First robot is more of a beginner robot, used for deep climb, lvl 1 coral and algae into processor. Second robot is way more advanced, it can do net, deep climb (needs some work i think), all coral levels, and processor. Bascially robot 2 can do everything other then shallow climb and ground intake. Love both robots very well built! keep up the hard work!

Just needed to shift the CoG for deep climb robot 2

Fantastic Ri3D bots! As always! Very clever use of innovative mechanisms to do double scoring and hanging. Also its amazing to see you guys cater for different skill levels in FRC, love to see it!

Just an FYI all, the 2nd Deep climb is potentially illegal, as you cannot contact the chain for a valid climb.

Yup! I completely forgot to put that as a caption in the reveal video, but this will be addressed in our documentation.

Hey, I’m from the quokkas, you are correct, you cant touch the chain during climb, which this did during testing, but just adding some weight to move the cg should allow the elevator to hang backwards away from the chain instead of leaning forwards onto the chain

Incredible work. How you guys and girls can make two robots that effectively solve every game challenge in just 2 days blows my mind. Can't wait to see what 6 weeks of refinement will bring at the Southern Cross Regional

Did u have any weight constraints with that pivot?

How big is the gear on the small bot used to lift the arm?

70T sprocket, #35 chain. Overall reduction was around 150:1 IIRC

I thought the robot can only extend a certain height. Doesnt the mechanism when it goes for the net break that rule? I dont have the book on me at the moment so i cant check, hoping someone can confirm or deny.
@UnqualifiedQuokkasRi3DСағат бұрын
There is no restriction on how high up your robot can extend. The only robot size constraints are: - You must fit within the starting configuration (120" frame perimeter and 42" tall) - You can only extend 18" horizontally outside of your frame perimeter. There isn't a rule regarding vertical extension.

Is the second bots deep climb valid since its touching the deep cage's chain?
@UnqualifiedQuokkasRi3DСағат бұрын
Currently no, but we will be running some tests in the next couple of days where we move the battery to change our robots Center of Gravity to get it into a spot where it does not touch the chain. Our findings will be posted on our Chief Delphi thread.
@cbNK382210 сағат бұрын
Wow, robots are amazing! Especially in 3 days, but I thought that you couldn't touch the chain when climbing. (G419: ANCHORS are off-limits. A ROBOT may not contact the ANCHORS. Exceptions are granted for actions that are MOMENTARY and inconsequential.) (check page 26 for the list of anchors, which includes the chain) we had a similar idea for climbing but scrapped it due to this rule
@UnqualifiedQuokkasRi3DСағат бұрын
You are correct, you cannot touch the chain as it is a part of the ANCHOR. We believe the climb idea is awesome, that's why we left it in, but on our robot, the centre of gravity is in a poor position, and so the arm touches the chain. We will be conducting some climb tests in the coming days where the battery is moved around to change the CoG and will report our findings on our Chief Delphi thread.
