This reminds me of a dish we call bayibayi in iloilo. :) i find it interesting how similar dishes have different names in different parts of the country. And there are also those that (i think) have the same name wherever you go, like adobo. It would be nice to know the origins of the dishes. :)

Nostalgic! I was talking about this delicacy to my friend just few days ago and for us ilonggos we call it Baye-baye. This is a must try when youre visiting panay island and the mais version really taste good too. It amazes me that we call it in different names in different areas of our country but the tradition that we prepare it before ani/harvest ng palay or during all souls day its the same. I have wonderful childhood memories when we prepare this and I look forward to eat this whenever I go home in the Phils..such a great content

Great video, but please work on the legibility of the subtitles. The yellow is very hard to read a lot of the time. Perhaps add a thin, dark outline (not necessarily black, even a darker yellow would do the trick) to boost legibility. The light and dark contrast should keep things readable on any background. Other than that, great video! I’d never heard of this before. I’ll need to see if I can find it next time I’m in the Philippines. So many things to do, so little time!
