My wife taught me to eat Vietnamese banh xeo wrapped in rice paper, it helps keep all the contents inside all together so it doesnt fall apart when dipping it into sauce. I in turn showed that to my sister and brother in law and they called it brilliant also.

I used all of mine making cole slaw spring rolls. Went through my pack pretty quickly. I honestly don't see how people can have food for a long time. When you're poor and hate seeing food go to waste, stuff gets used. :-P

I've made Aaron's 10 minute tteokbokki so many times, I could probably make it in my sleep! This hack with the rice paper is such a cool idea since I have to go across town to buy tteokbokki, and sometimes I just don't have any when I want it. Will definitely try it out!

Hello, I've tried this recipe two days ago and I honestly think this is such an impressive hack to make rice cakes! I have weak wrist and I don't have proper equipment to make proper rice cake, so I always struggle to make soft and chewy rice cake. But this video have helped me with that. I just made this and its amazing! Tteok is very hard to find where I live and tteokbokki is my absolute favorite. Highly recommend this recipe. The texture of the rice cake is great and the sauce is EVERYTHING!!! LOVE IT

We went over to a Korean corner shop just to buy rice paper and the Korean chilli paste for this, absolutely delicious, with a little garlic, soy sauce a pinch of sugar and just let them boil for a few mins until it thickens, its so yummy

Thanks for this amazong idea✨ I tried this recipe and can say the following: - I made it tooo hot be careful😅 - the wrapping worked really good - while cooking 2 of the “rice cakes” get unwraped in the pot. I think these were the ones I made last so I would recommend rolling the ricepaper and then give it some time to stick together (like 20 min on an oiled plate so they dont stick on it) - I used 3 layers of ricepaper and roll them like in the video but for my taste they went out too big, I would do just 2 layers next time but maybe it depends on your rice paper All in all i love it! The cheesy ones just killed me😍 They are so chewy and after cooking you cant feel the layers its just like a dough👍🏻

I’m so happy I can try this!! I have tried to make homemade rice cakes like 3 or 4 times and failed each time. It is the only thing I’ve never been able to make in the kitchen so I’m glad this easier solution is now available! Hopefully I’ll learn to make it from scratch soon but in the meantime? I’m gonna try this!!

I’m claiming tteokbokki and chicken soup as one of my love language. 😂 I feel like Claire’s enthusiasm for food, especially in this video is equal to a person doing the happy dance/wiggle when they eat. Lol. So cute! Also I love the idea that she dips the kimbap in the tteokbokki sauce. I never would have thought of that. We are Indians and great fan of K Dramas. Being from Bengal region, we love the fish, dry fish and rice dishes which is closer to our food habit. Roll half a cheesestick with a sheet of rice paper. Fry in a hot pan until crispy, and top with sweetened condensed milk. SOOOO GOOD!

WOW!! That totally made my day! I loved the tteokbokky recipes (5 different ways) and I managed to find some tteokbokky online but they've been out of stock since my first order - I've been checking regularly with much disappointment thinking that I'd have to go to the city to get some and here, you post this. From Claire's reaction, I know it's going to be good. The funny thing is, I bought some rice paper this week and thought about dusty rice paper in my cupboard and wondered when I was going to use it... Apparently, it's going to be very soon! Just tried making tteokbokki and simmering as directed in your video but as I'm vegetarian and had none of those soup ingredients I just used as my base a spicy Asian-inspired soup I'd already made...added some brown sugar and coconut enzymes for the sweetness you describe...SO SO SO GOOD! I just made this and its so good! But with three layers it turned out definitely too thick for me 😅 so then I adjusted it and made regular ones with two layers and the cheese ones with one layer of rice paper and half a slice of procesed cheese. The best part of it is when cheese mixes with the soup (i made it very soupy lol) and it becomes so nice and creamy, love it!
