I didn't understand this Pluton thing until I started re-watching these episodes via reactions on youtube. What Iceberg is saying is that Pluton was built at Water 7 hundreds of years ago, and it's also the same weapon that Crocodile was looking for in Arabasta. However, the dude who originally built the Pluton hundreds of years ago kept the BLUEPRINTS around just in case the original Pluton were to get into the wrong hands. That way someone can build a 2nd Pluton to combat the original Pluton. That's my understanding.

Just to clear the doubts, Pluton is an ancient weapon that exists somewhere in the One Piece world. Its location is mentioned in the Poneglyphs, and only Robin can read them, so the World government needs her. Shipwrights from ancient times passed down blueprints of Pluton because if someone who can read the Poneglyphs revives an already existing Pluton, these blueprints can be used to create another Pluton to counter it.

@KamiGrimmКүн бұрын
The blueprints are for the ancient weapon, pluton Pluton has been built already, and it exists somewhere in the world. There is a poneglyph that leads to it. The blueprints that teach you to build pluton are in iceberg’s hands. The blueprints continue to exist and be passed down in case the original pluton falls into the wrong hands, so a second can be built to fight it. The blueprints cannot be destroyed so long as the poneglyphs exist because if someone comes along that can read the poneglyphs then the original pluton could be reawakened. This is also why iceberg is afraid of Robin. She is the first person in known history that can read the poneglyphs, so this is the first time theres a danger of someone finding the first pluton

The reason the show seems dramatically different this arc is because it is. This arc starts what I’d call “modern One Piece” and everything before that I consider “classic one piece”. You’re being introduced to the main storyline pretty much for the first time right now, and everything preceding it was just extended exposition. Classic one piece is where the series formula was perfected and it’s much more compartmentalized, whereas from here on out you’ll see that the story of one piece is exceedingly complex and layered and encompasses way more than what you’re used to; namely mainly the straw hat crew.
@ProHero86Күн бұрын
It’s the first real big world arc…everything else has been focused on the crew and crew hijinks, whereas this arc deals with government conspiracies, hidden agents & talks about things mentioned previously that now have significance.

"It almost feels like a different writer" Fact of the matter is that Oda has been building a skyscraper. You cant get a skyscraper up to impressive heights without first building a foundation. The entire east blue saga is like an introduction to the story. Water 7 is where all the foundation and world building up to this point pays off with a flourish. Really think about the fact that this arc couldnt have happened without Alabasta happening first. Along with Skypeia needed for world building and bonding and lore. Its not that it feels like a different writer, its that you didnt realize a much deeper story was being weaved around the stories you were watching, and now that its been revealed its shown you an entirely bigger world that you've been in this entire time. Oda was hiding his true power level before this arc. This is where he lets loose.

It is completely okay to take notes and pause or even rewind to make sure you didn't miss anything; BUT don't stress about missing things or "focusing on the wrong things" or any of that. I promise you that NO ONE caught everything on their first viewing, and there are so many times where things seem pointless or won't be brought up again, but they do. Do the amount you feel comfortable with, because that is most important for your viewing experience. A lot of the time, the show does a good job of highlighting stuff it calls back to with a quick aside or flashback. You will remember 90% of the stuff that it makes important. edit: Also, feel free to cook when you are trying to figure stuff out. It is enjoyable to see a fresh viewers ideas of what is happening/has happened in this world. You might think some of your ideas are far-fetched in the moment, but it is amazing to see how close reactors get to stuff that won't happen for several hundreds of episodes down the line (or more).
