The beat for this track is so damn good. Hit 'em up is really dark in the sense that you can hear the conviction in what he is saying. You are left with no doubt he meant every single word. The sad irony is Pac died in the same way he was alluding to with Biggie.

I would also like to point out that you have to have guts, strength and courage at his age, at his time when he was a young black boy from a disadvantaged area and coming from a Black Panther family and education. Pac is a very smart dude cause if you really look at it you gonna see that he was genius. He knew that most of the rappers he dissed on here are artists who are strongly influenced by the street/ gangsta ish so he put Hussein and Yak on the track who at the time both had certified street reputations for being serious dudes in Jersey who both didn't play. So he knew that Jay, Big and Mobb would know that he didn't just put 2 regular nobody's on this track, but 2 beasts from Jersey who were the word on the streets. Then on top of that he himself was known 2 be a shooter and popped those things if he had 2 and was a real trouble maker 2 that everybody knew about from east to west. Than he put some comedy in there with the fake Biggie, Puffy, Kim and in some of the lyrics (cause we all love good comedy 😂 ) and took one of Biggie's own beats on top of that diss him with! So they didn't know if he and the Lawz was serious ore just rapping but this track damn sure made everybody nervous and spreaded like a plague that is hunting till this day👌🏾

Pac didn't hate Big & Diddy on some gang shit.... Pac got shot 5 times in an elevator at a building in NY that had a studio in it. Diddy and Big were in a different studio on a different floor but Pac felt like they were involved or at least knew about it and ain't give him the heads up. He basically included Jay and Mobb bc they made some comments and put themselves in his issue with Bad Boy. Combine that with Pac consistently claiming "West Side" and the media oversimplified the situation and labeled it "East Coast" vs "West Coast" which was BS.
