“All I remember is your back”... my brother left his wife and 3 kids ages 8,7 and 3. They said they were crying and he never turned around. He got in his truck and left. COWARD!!! I adopted my stepson after we lost his dad who was raising both his kids when I met him. It’s a deep song and affects many lives. It’s sad but nice to know we aren’t alone.

My favorite Kelly Clarkson song!! I cry every time I hear it! I think that’s what makes great music tho... songs that hit you in the heart! To all the dads in the world... PLEASE STAY! My dad left when I was 1, and I never saw him again... and I’m now 42. Don’t know if he’s even still alive! I now have 3 kids of my own and their dad stayed... thank god!! 🙏🙏
@HollyO4555

God has blessed your children to have such a wonderful mother. My father also left before I could even remember what he looked like. My mom nearly refuses to tell me anything about him. It truly takes a strong woman to raise children on their own. I'm not a mother myself but I saw what my mom went through trying to make things "better" and my heart goes out to every single PARENT. I felt the need to specify that it's not just the father that leaves because in media they usually show the father leave but mothers can be equally as guilty of this trauma. Either way, I think I finally snapped out of my emotions (never). I wish your family all the best! ❤
@realsilly7727
@realsilly7727 4 жыл бұрын
Holly Owen - you are correct... mothers leave too. For the life of me I can’t imagine how any parent could leave their children.... my purpose is my kids!! I’m sorry we shared similar circumstances with our fathers, but in the end, it’s their loss! My mother also doesn’t say much about my dad, but I can’t say I blame her. He left her with 3 kids, never a dime in child support, worked 3 jobs to keep us cared for and never cared about herself! She is my hero, and I’m so blessed to have her! It’s tough on everyone when either parent leaves... which is why this song is so painfully beautiful!! Take care of yourself!! 🙏

This song always gets to me. The only time I’ve ever seen my father is when I look in the mirror ( I look just like him, red hair and all). I’ve never met him, he knew about me but avoided me. So yes, all he was was a sperm donor to me. And no, my boys never wonder if their parents love them. How sad.

I lost my "real" dad a few years ago, and my line is "he'll never walk away". My dad fought to stay with us. But cancer won. I didn't even know he wasn't my biological dad until I was 28yrs old. But it didn't matter. HE took on 4 kids that weren't his! And He stepped up! And HE stayed! He could be hard, but you know what? He made sure that if he wasn't here for whatever reason, I'd be alright. He helped make me strong! I can stand alone and I will survive whatever life brings. And it has brought me a lot of sorrow and pain. BUT I'm STILL here!

the first time I heard this song, I was bawling by the end of the 1st verse. My dad, not only left me, but when my mom asked for child support, he flatly refused. (early 60's) so we went all the way to the Supreme Court, and after I took the stand it was a done deal. I look exactly like him. He never explained why. They had a 7 yr. relationship, even though they were both married to other people. I saw him intermittently as I was growing up, but he never saw a dance recital, he never saw a horse show, and he didn't walk me down the aisle. My heart soul and psyche has been destroyed by him, because before he left, he was my primary caretaker, and we were quite close. Then Suddenly, nothing. for years.

No child should ever know the feeling of their parents not wanting them! Unfortunately so many of us do! We grow up learning we are only worth as much as we can give. So to all you parents out there tell your kids you love them unconditionally, and show them you mean it! Don't ever ask your child to supplement your happiness, teach them that they are your joy! And never ever give them any reason to believe that your love is conditional, those are scars that don't easily heal!

I love all her music and she's not afraid to tell about the depression she goes through which I do too. Thanks 😊 y'all for entertaing us through been imprisoned in our homes. My other favorite singer is Bon Jovi ,"Wanted Dead or Alive' or "Bed of Roses'.
