@MarcelKlein889 жыл бұрын
+Reboogity Amen There are a couple of reasons. People have been brain washed to believe that crap since their early childhood (baptism, confirmation, etc.). So believing in god is an integral part of their way of thinking. Additionally they are told that everything that contradicts their believe is just a test of their faith in god, reinforcing their believes. If they have doubts they usually turn to their obviously biased pastor or other clergy authority instead of checking independent sources. Asides from that, admitting that you believed in the wrong thing your entire live is just to much to handle for the ego of many persons, especially if they are surrounded by a church related community and family. They wittingly or even unwittingly ignore everything that challenges a core part of their life (selective perception). I'm afraid many people just cling to their religion no matter what, evidence doesn't play a role in that. Just like there are people who believe Elvis is still alive or that men has never been to the moon. Once someone is in a psychological state of completely rejecting all other opinions than they are lost for good. Arguing with them has no value, there is no argument that could convince them.

@peachbun9 жыл бұрын
+Marcel Klein Interesting how you claim these things as if they are fact, to somehow back up your superiority complex. But actually you are wrong. People do not believe because of some brainwashing ( Maybe there are some groups of people who believe without really understanding why they believe, but to claim this of all is ridiculous ) They are not told that everything that contradicts their belief is a test of their faith, and that this reinforces their belief etc etc... No, not everyone goes to a biased pastor, instead of finding things out for themselves. Even the bible says to learn for yourself, not just listen to what others tell you. It seems you are describing yourself pretty well, as you seem to be in a psychological state of completely rejecting anything other than what supports your need to feel superior, and no discussion could convince you of anything different, right? Could your ego handle it? If it turns out you are wrong, could you accept that?

Forget the regular folks, it has always puzzled me why some otherwise perfectly intelligent people can believe in something so illogical as religion and myths from the bronze age in the complete absence of evidence. Its the most redundant set of ideas, completely unnecessary to live a good, fulfilling and a purposeful life in the 21st century and yet it is foisted upon so many kids all over the world.
@DeflatingAtheism7 жыл бұрын
"something so illogical as religion" Religion isn't a claim or a belief system, and you clearly have no idea what logic is (seems to be common for atheists.) "myths from the bronze age" Are you talking about Christianity? The Bronze Age ended in the Near East 1200 years before Jesus was born, before any of the books of the Old testament were written. So why did you say something so completely fallacious? You heard some other atheist use the expression "bronze age fairy tales" and you believed it (without evidence) and repeated it, thinking you'd sound like you know what you're talking about, but you only revealed your ignorance. "in the complete absence of evidence" There's a "complete absence of evidence" for every religion!?! Is this something you're capable of proving? Of course not! It's something you heard another atheist say, so you repeated it because it sounded good to you. Read a book for once in your life. Think for yourself for once. Stop mindlessly repeating what other atheists tell you.

If you’re serious about contending with the argument from causation (Aquinas’ Second Way) then you must engage with his proof seriously (and not just the caricature of his work as provided by such intellectual heavyweights as ur man Richard Dawkins...
@spilkafurtseva19183 жыл бұрын
“The proof from causality begins by noting that the senses reveal to us an order of efficient causes. But nothing can be the cause of itself, for if it were then “it would be prior to itself, which is impossible” (ST 1.2.3). Now in a series of efficient causes, the first cause is the cause of the intermediate cause or causes, which are in turn the cause of the ultimate cause. So if there were no first cause, then there would be no intermediate or ultimate causes at all (and thus no causes of the sort we started out acknowledging that we know through the senses). But if the series of efficient causes regressed to infinity, then there would be no first cause. Hence the series cannot go on to infinity, and "therefore it is necessary to admit a first efficient cause, to which everyone gives the name of God” (ST 1.2.3). Let us note first (and yet again) that Aquinas does not say, here or elsewhere, that “everything has a cause"; rather, he begins the argument by saying that there are efficient causes and that nothing can cause itself. The implication is that if something is caused, then it is something outside the thing being caused that is doing the causing; and as we have seen in chapter 2, Aquinas is committed in particular to the principle of causality, according to which that which comes into being, or more generally that which is contingent, must have a cause. Needless to say, this is not the same thing as to claim that everything without exception has a cause. So the argument is in no way vulnerable to the stock objections aimed at the stock caricature of cosmological arguments (i.e. “If everything has a cause, then what caused God?").”
@spilkafurtseva19183 жыл бұрын
It should be obvious that the reason Aquinas rules out the possibility of an infinite regress of causes in the Second Way is the same as the reason he rules out the possibility of an infinite regress of movers in the First Way, What he has in mind, here as there, is a causal series ordered per se, not a causal series orderedper accidens, and his point, accordingly, is not that the universe must have had a beginning in time, but rather that whether or not it has always existed, it must here and now be sustained by a first uncaused cause. Hence, the points made in exposition of the First Way vis-à-vis infinite causal regresses apply here as well.
@spilkafurtseva19183 жыл бұрын
I think you’re miixng up causal series *per se* and causal series *per accidens* so you’re not quite grasping the concept of a first cause even though you think you are... happy to provide more info just lmk :-)

Anthropologists dig in the earth and discover an odd shaped piece of flint, the first thing they determine it must have been designed or crafted by someone of more or less intelligence. As a child living in Thonotosassa, Florida, I often came upon arrowheads and cherished every find, placing them in a special box I had. i wondered what kind of people they were, who was the hunter. They were called the Thonotosassa Indians that had once lived in that area, maybe one of my forefathers. Yet, evolutionists abandon that same logic when it comes to living things. Why is a designer not considered when they discover say, the simplest of a single-cell organism... Richard Lewontin said, that organisms "appear to have been carefully and artfully designed." He views them as "the chief evidence of a Supreme Designer." This Professor Richard Lewontin, a geneticist (and self-proclaimed Marxist), is certainly one of the world’s leaders in evolutionary biology. He wrote this very revealing comment (the italics were in the original). It illustrates the implicit philosophical bias against Genesis creation-regardless of whether or not the facts support it. ‘Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science and the supernatural. We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism. It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door. The eminent Kant scholar Lewis Beck used to say that anyone who could believe in God could believe in anything. To appeal to an omnipotent deity is to allow that at any moment the regularities of nature may be ruptured, that Miracles may happen.

And also, god just created earth with perfectly evolved humans and animals? Your bible says that humans were the first living things to exist, even though there is a lot of proof showing that dinosaurs existed, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before we did. What is weird is that you people believe in dinosaurs, the Big Bang, and the evolution of humans, even though your bible there is completely against that. Also it was said that God created earth in seven days, And created perfectly evolved humans, with just a snap of a finger. Even though you people Believe in the Big Bang, which was over 14 billion years ago. Which fucking side are you on? And also Adam and Eve had two sons as it says in the Bible so how are they able to reproduce and create an entire human race, before they were immediately killed off? Your beliefs make absolutely no sense. And also, you say that god gave you emotions, when in reality, emotions are just a series of chemical reactions that have been perfect over millions of years of evolution to communicate, assert dominance or success. And one last thing, even if Adam and Eve had a son and a daughter, the inbred child would be deformed and not able to reproduce. So what, god just stepped in and saved the day? I don’t think so. The fact that everything seems so beautifully designed is 100% an opinion (one shared by pretty much everyone). This general opinion is had by humans only because we evolved over billions of years to more and more be able to appreciate the world surrounding us. Certain ancestors of ours couldnt appreciate things the way we do now & therefore had less reason to try to live long healthy lives full of procreating. Also, as for how time could have existed forever and not had something create the universe at a certain point, our brains only ever had a reason to evolve far enough to be able to comprehend what was around us. Everything human beings experience in life has an end or an edge to it. Give it another 100 million years and infinity might genuinely make sense to us.

I'm an atheist (not by choice, I am that way), but I seriously doubt the idea that the absence of proof is proof of absence. Of course, we cannot say that God or gods exists (we have no proof that he does). However, saying that because we have no proof, we can say he or they doesn't exist seems like a fallacy. Back during the medieval times, we didn't have proof for the existence of atoms, micro-organism and lot of things, even if we had some theories from ancient Greec about those things (but no proof). Yet, regardless of the absence of proof and of the absence of belief in those entities, they still existed regardless of our beliefs. Also, I don't think that Dawkins is honest about Darwin here : Darwin was never an atheist and never considered the theory of evolution as a proof of the non-existence of God or gods. Having read the Origin of the Species, I can clearly say that Dawkins is giving unwanted opinions and ideas to Darwin. Also, I hardly see how intelligent design and natural selection exclude one another. After all, human do artificial selection with their lifestock, and it is a simplified and crude way to recreate the process of natural selection. If humans can do an artificial selection, why would a God or gods be unable to design natural selection ? Of course, I am not saying that there is a God or anything like that, simply that Dawkins doesn't really seem to reflect on the question in all its complexity. He seems to be driven by his own personal belief, which isn't really different from the case of the religious zealots he often clash with.

First off: natural selection is the process, the act of things changing over time in significant ways is macroevolution. NS runs in parrallel with macroevolution. Second off: First cause isn't explained well in non-theistic means either. I could replace god with big bang in your argument and it would be just as valid an argument. Third off: Pascal's Wager is partly endorsed by Jeudaeo-Christianity (Matthew 7:7) in the concept of "Look and ye shall find", the concept that if you truly seek God then he will lead you to him. Yes, if you just pick one then you are statistically likely of being wrong, but if you are just picking one with no real conviction, then picking the right one would not help you.

( To Scientists, atheists, and those who are looking for God please read) In the beginning John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word/Logos, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Things were spoken into existence by a thinking mind with a heart. The logos or word was divine thought in Greek philosophy. Proverbs 8:22 “I, wisdom, was with the Lord when he began his work, long before he made anything else. 23 I was created in the very beginning, even before the world began. 24 I was born before there were oceans, or springs overflowing with water, 25 before the hills were there, before the mountains were put in place. 26 God had not made the earth or fields, not even the first dust of the earth. 27 I was there when God put the skies in place, when he stretched the horizon over the oceans,28 when he made the clouds above and put the deep underground springs in place. 29 I was there when he ordered the sea not to go beyond the borders he had set. I was there when he laid the earth’s foundation. 30 I was like a child by his side. I was delighted every day, enjoying his presence all the time,31 enjoying the whole world, and delighted with all its people. Proof is guided by signs and faith. We can’t be everywhere at once And know everything yet things can be known. Truth and love have a transcendent element. It’s like having a wife you can’t see all of her but you know her by her actions and heart. How can one test love even a polygraph test can lie. Love is about trust and faith. Only a prefect judge can judge creation. Through blindness, sight, dreams, or visions the word of God has been made known. Romans 1:10 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. I’ve seen science in the court room and the end decisions are made with the heart. The signs may be deceiving. True love walks with you through suffering and will sacrifice their life for you. Jesus was an all powerful god but he chose to step down off his throne and to share and in our suffering. A wise philosopher said if there’s to be a battle it’ll be on the grounds of language and deal with the heart. I pray we all know Jesus and pure light and peace wash over over us till we’re filled completely by love and understanding. Not all spirits are the spirit of truth. Where ever there is a disagreement in philosophies there is division. The lord god has divided himself among the elemental spirits of this world. All sciences arose through Gods own character. He is not the unity of opposites and is pure and righteous above all. There was a time before Israel there is a time after God spoke through Israel and through foreign kings. God has shown himself to those who aren't looking and to those who do. Proverb’s 1:20 Wisdom cries aloud in the street, in the markets she raises her voice; 21 at the head of the noisy streets she cries out; at the entrance of the city gates she speaks: Praise Jesus for throughout time God spoke through angels but in the last days he has sent his son. Jesus said I am in the father and the father is within me. The priests of earth offered sacrifices but only one sacrifice was enough blood from the creator, The Lord almighty, Holy and pure. God is awesome he will help us with our disbelief. John 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.” (section 2 regarding the bible and the word of God) It’s important to understand God is eternal and his will was always made known. The word of God is written in the clouds, speaks through people, and is written on the heart. Before it was written down the priests, angels, and everything in creation testified about God. Romans 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. The word of God is living and breathing eternal means it can be revealed yet hidden doesn’t mean it’s not there. The fallen angels can lie through the Bible but the will of god is revealed through the Bible and through creation but creation will confirm the spirit of truth through the Bible. The mysteries belong to God Deuteronomy 29:29 one day we will know as we’re fully known first Corinthians 13:12 Hebrews 11:1-6 faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Again God is beyond yet known eternal but his form is limited because he is not Satan yet God is all powerful. He will blow the minds of any who look into his heart and even Science deals in paradoxes.

For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. The “Who Created God?” argument from atheists should no longer be used in arguments against God’s existence. The laws of the universe are cause and effect. That’s how things work in our realm. If existence is their natural condition. Why, though, do we experience a beginning of our existence? Because it's not natural for us to exist. Something must cause us to come into existence. I envision the difference between the two as being a difference between what's necessary versus unnecessary. In order for what's unnecessary to come to exist, a Creator could need to exist first in order that other things could. The scientists and researchers that have literally dedicated their ENTIRE LIVES to finding out our origin and how we were made and where we come from have done a lot of work over the years and have concluded many things. One of those being the story of Noah’s Ark. There is no real true evidence of a global flood occurring. Even a more “mid major” scientist like Bill Nye can explain it to you. No evidence of a global flood would in turn discredit the whole story of Noah’s Ark correct? Which would also in turn discredit the entire Bible correct? Because how could we trust the Bible after finding out one of its biggest stories is completely false? And I think it’s common sense that if the Bible is discredited than how is it any different than a fiction book with fiction stories in it? So with that, I think it’s almost safe to say we know that God is in fact not real.

So its stupid to say yeah the universe can be a hole coincidence But Not a mobile phone in the desert But im mean it can be why not if the universe is a coincidence why not a phone

@@recaiekici2852 No one is saying its a coincidence, so I donno what you are talking about. You haven't shown god exists or existed yet, so why jump straight to the claim god created nature? Your phone analogy is out of context cause that assumes the universe is a coincidence which doesn't really make any sense. Natural processes don't create iPhones (unless you take all of reality itself to be a natural process which it is in some sense), they create canyons, mountains, waterfalls, life, etc etc.

Yahweh and Brahma exist TODAY in the modern-day not in 10th century Norway, like Odin and Thor did (unless you’re a Marvel fan..lol). Have a Hindu and Christian (or believer and non-believer) fight it out over who is “the better god” and just sit back and watch them argue over what mystical, magical, non-sensical being is “better” than the other one! Evidence comes in different forms. Imagine you returned home from a night out to find the kitchen garbage turned over, trash thrown about, and your shoes chewed up. Meanwhile, your dog is sleeping quietly in the other room. There are some things you know and some things you don’t know. Unfortunately, you never set up your surveillance cameras. So you don’t have any direct evidence. But everything you see “suggests” that your dog misbehaved before falling asleep. Is it possible that your neighbor came over and messed up your house? Yes. But unless you have an unusual neighbor it’s not going to be the best explanation. Now if we look for the best explanation for the world we live in, here’s what we find… First, God is the best explanation for the origin of the universe. In the past it was believed that the universe was eternal. But today, theists and atheists alike agree that there was a beginning when matter, energy, space and time came into being. Denying a creator, atheists are required to believe that everything we see came out of nothing. Experience and science tell us that something can’t come from nothing. We have never seen it happen. But here we are. What’s the best explanation? That something came from nothing? Or that something outside our universe caused the universe to exist. In any other context, we recognize that something can’t come from nothing. We should in this context as well. A creator is the best explanation for the fact that the universe exists at all. Second, God is the best explanation for the fine-tuned universe. Not only does the universe exist, but it contains a delicate balance of conditions that not only allow matter to exist, but life to be possible. From the strength of gravity to the size of the moon to the tilt of the earth, hundreds of conditions had to be just perfect at exactly the same time for life on earth to be possible. Now, what’s the best explanation for this fine-tuned environment? No one looks at a watch and assumes it was created by an explosion at a watch factory. No one sees graffiti on a wall and assumes a paint truck was involved in an accident. When we see evidence of design, we assumed there was a designer because logic and experience tell us that order doesn’t come from disorder. Do coincidences happen? Yes. But not hundreds or millions of them in exactly the same time. If you want to believe that God doesn’t exist, you will find a reason. You might also convince yourself that your neighbor and not your dog messed up your house. But that doesn’t make it the best explanation for what you know. So the next time someone tells you there is no evidence for God, remember these two things… God is the best explanation for the origin of the universe. If God didn’t make the universe, that means it made itself and that doesn’t make any sense. God is the best explanation for the fine-tuned universe. The universe is filled with intelligence, order, and evidence of design. In every other area, when we see design we assume there was a designer. It’s the best explanation here as well.

*** GOD IS REAL AND CAN BE PROVEN IN A COURT OF LAW!!! The biologically immortal organisms that lack senescence are already extremely great proof for God and his design but if you want more..... The 3 main forms of evidence that would be acceptable and legitimate in a court of law for the existence of God would be..... "Life after Death experience studies where people witness a creator God- " iands.org/resources/education/recommended-reading.html " " time.com/68381/life-beyond-death-the-science-of-the-afterlife-2/ ", .......... Positive co-relation to prayer in a peer reviewed study.......... jamanetwork.com/journals/jamainternalmedicine/fullarticle/485161 ............ and scientific facts mentioned in the Bible before their human discovery by a divine influence, www.eternal-productions.org/101science.html ....... For example….. 1. The singing stars. Job 38:7 declares the morning stars sang together and all the sons of God shouted for joy. It sounds like a bit of Bible poetry but not much more. After all, stars shine, not sing, right? Well, it turns out scientists have been able to convert patterns from start light into audio wavelengths, according to Discovery News. The “amount of hiss” in the audio reportedly allows scientists to measure the surface gravity on a star and gauge where it is in its stellar evolution. 2. Weight of the winds. In Job 28:25, we are told that God weighed out the wind. This one may be no more self-evident to us than it was to an ancient Israelite reader of this text. But, we know from modern science that air, since it does have mass, weighs something. You might be surprised to know how much though: an estimated one ton of air is weighing down on shoulders, according to this science site (which explains that we don’t feel it because the air is exerting its force in all directions). This is pretty basic stuff for modern scientists, but it’s quite a credit to the inerrancy of Scripture that the author of Job got it right so long ago (approximately in the second millennium BC). 3. A massive fountain of water deep beneath the Earth!!! Genesis 7:11 "In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened." www.thesun.co.uk/news/2242110/scientists-discovered-water-from-biblical-great-flood-in- worlds-deepest-hole/ www.express.co.uk/news/weird/733026/Russia-science-Kola-borehole-Noah-floodwater-Bible- Genesis-theory-of-12 creation.com/oceans-of-water-deep-inside-the-earth "Scientists dig the world’s deepest hole - and find ‘water from NOAH’S FLOOD’ at the bottom The revelation also reportedly "disproves the myth" that the earth is made up of dry rocky layers" All these would stand the scrutiny of a judge and jury for the case of a creator Gods existence and the legitimacy of the Christian Faith!!! But I am feeling generous so I will give you two more great forms of evidence, how about this book where a forensic officer who is atheist studies and researches the Bible to see if it proves a historical Jesus and if he was murdered wrongfully? Cold-Case Christianity: A Homicide Detective Investigates the Claims of the Gospels www.amazon.com/Cold-Case-Christianity-Homicide-Detective-Investigates/dp/1434704696, afterward he became Christian!!! Also, why don't you just pray to God yourself and ask him if he is real? What more can I say??? Then you would have personal evidence and proof of Gods interaction yourself..... I mean, there is actually way way way more evidence for God than this but it either would go over your head or you would not understand it properly and you would question it, but this is really solid evidence and proof I have given you up above that would hold up in a court of law........... if you decide to RUN from it, at least admit to yourself that is what you are doing........ Do you believe your life, body, family and the ground you walk on are all a gift or something else? If you believe they are all something else then what do you think they all are then?***

I think what makes most atheist arguments unconvincing is the fact that they lump all gods together and pretend that disproving one god disproves them all. In Dawkins' case he even lumps them in with fairies. It's also why you hear Dawkins use silly arguments like "you're an atheist too, you just believe in one more God then I do." That argument only makes sense if you believe all gods, ideas of god and all religions based on a god are created equal which anyone with half a brain can tell you they're not

How many arguments are there for God? I could safely say over the centuries that thousands of arguments have been made for God's existence. As time moved forward and we learned that we could explain some of these arguments away through concrete science, the arguments for God began to thin out. We are now left with arguments like God exists because my book tells me so. God exists because I have faith. God exists because humans have souls ( they do not and there is no soul to be found) People who believe in God have run out of arguments. It is the person who believes in God to prove 100% God exists. There simply is no evidence of God existing...none. Proof is not a feeling or a book some person wrote a thousand years ago.

The Cosmological Constant is tuned to a level of 1/10^120. By definition, "a statistical impossibility is a probability that is so low as to not be worthy of mentioning. Sometimes it is quoted as 1/10^50 although the cutoff is inherently arbitrary. Although not truly impossible the probability is low enough so as to not bear mention in a rational, reasonable argument." Therefore, in the fine-tuning argument, it would be more rational and reasonable to conclude that the multi-verse is not the correct answer.

Goodness... allow me to just humbly remark, that the title suggests Dawkins is about to give 5 reasons why there "is no" god. But all he did was give suggestions why not to "believe" in a god. And to that... he is right. Belief is cheap. It's cheap because it can change. If anyone is arguing about this, then it is their egos. The Truth is, no one actually "Knows." People are just too arrogant to say they don't know. Dawkins doesn't know, no one knows. Proof is not necessary for belief, and hence the problem we find ourselves in today. People can believe anything they want, and if they choose to believe something, then G-d forbid (lol) that their belief should be so fragile as to be shaken by another person's "belief" being confused as knowledge. To Know something, is to become that. To believe in something, is to choose that. Faith is the proof of something chosen. To know something you believe, requires faith. Without faith, who cares? In anycase, to have proof, and then believe is not a choice. To know something because it is self-evident, is by default and not a choice. There is no proof of G-d. Nor should there be, otherwise there's no choice. A wise person seeks to Know the truth, to become it, one with it. Healthy skepticism is necessary. Most people believe in fairy-tails because they are practicing escapism. To escape reality is to avoid the truth. Which means they can only ever just believe. Better to know nothing than to believe in nothing. To seek the truth requires a belief in something. To know nothing allows us to be humble enough to seek. If we think we know, we will not seek. We should know we know nothing, yet believe in something to seek. If our belief is rewarded with faith, then we have the evidence of that which we sought. Faith is not belief. Faith is proof. And that only makes sense to someone who has experienced it. But do not be fooled folks... you already have... each and everyone of you has faith in your own consciousness's existence. Now prove that it exists... lol

I don't know much about evolution but I know that if something is designed then it must have a designer. and I know that randomness can't design anything, it just creates chaos. And about the old school question where did God come from question? All the evidence show that time and space had a beginning out of nothing, and it's far more rational to assume it had a cause, so whatever caused time can't be made of time therefore the cause timeless and if something or someone is timeless that means it doesn't have a beginning.

Yes. When you put these chemicals in solutions over billions of years, they produce the exact necessary components to produce life. Just like if you took a billion randomly generated letters generated by a computer over a year, you'd *certainly* find the words from the Declaration of Independence within it.
@eepyru2 жыл бұрын
@@ezrakirkpatrick5365 1. From what I've learned, proton gradients are set up by certain proteins, but how do the proteins know that they have to move protons in order to set up a proton gradient? Might sound dumb because I still don't know much, but what's the ultimate control system, and what does that ultimate control system rely on? 2. Kinda same for this one too. What's the ultimate control system again? How do the brain and stem cells know what they have to do? If we talk about the first ever human being, well do you really think that their brain and stem cells knew what to do all on their own? Don't tell me it's evolution that doesn't even make sense. The brain and stem cells are way more complicated than that. 3. Once again it's the same for DNA and RNA. DNA is like an instruction sheet or panel or whatever you wanna call it. The original comment was talking about the the first cell too. Sure we know now that with the help of science we can produce millions of copies of the same DNA and all, that's a different story but what about the first cell? The first DNA couldn't have just appeared out of thin air. That is one thing I've asked many atheists, but they never give me a good reply. The first DNA couldn't have appeared out of thin air, perfectly containing so many instructions and all. Then furthermore, where do the instructions come from?

I never understood how anyone could take the whole intelligent design theory seriously. What kind of intelligent god, let alone a supposedly loving god, would design the human body in a way where it's physically possible for someone to live, but to be permanently paralyzed from the neck down if they injure their spine? Why would god want a person to live like that? Why would "He" not design the spinal cord to heal from injuries, or make movement and sensation work in some sort of other way that isn't so vulnerable to a devastating injury? Or at least design the spinal cord in a way that if it breaks, a person immediately dies, even with the best medical interventions that the human mind could come up with? And how do you account for the fact that a person's personality and behavior can completely change in a negative way when they get brain damage from a head injury? If you damage certain parts of your brain, you can become like a totally different person. People who were once loving and kind, can come become miserable and abusive and actually lose their ability to feel love for others if they damage certain parts of their brain. How is that not enough proof for people that there's no such thing as a soul, or therefore a god or an afterlife or anything supernatural? How does that not prove that we're just biological machines that evolved for whatever reason, to reproduce as effectively as possible and then die and that's it?
