His comedy is immortal. Its style will always be relevant. Pryor and Carlin take the #1 spot. I cannot choose between them.

Pryor was so damned talented, not only as a stand-up, but as a writer. Pryor was co-writer with Mel Brooks, and I believe Buck Henry as well on Blazing Saddles.

0:40 when he says 'Crazy' he sounds EXACTLY like Chris Rock when he says it. This man was a legend and all the truly great black comedians, Murphy, Rock, Chappelle were strongly influenced by him. Some of them openly admit to it. Murphy explicitly says so in RAW which was one of the great standup specials of all time. I wish I could have seen Carlin and Pryor in their prime on one stage together. That would be the funniest shit of all time. There have been rumors, confirmed by Chris Rock, of a Dave Chappelle/Chris Rock comedy tour. It'll cost sooooo much money but if it happens I'm there for sure

My friend up the street had this album, his folks let him listen to it in the living room. Funny then, funny now! Yeah, Chris Rock and Kat Williams WISH they were like Richard Pryor. In my opinion, Eddie Murphy is the only one to come anywhere close. George Carlin is another from that era with that kind of comedic talent. (Again, all this is just my observation). It's a shame we lost them both...oddly enough, within a very close period of time. I've heard modern comedians comment about what a great loss it was to the comedy world when those two left us.

@@Paul-vc8on Okay. It appears that you weren't even born around the time of this comedy, with Mr. Pryor, how he came to be at this time, because of just a few others like him that broke the polite comedy line and spoke their minds. One who happened to be white, by the way, one that DID go to jail repeatedly for their comedy, one that opened the doors for all who came after- White, Black, Latino during the 70s & 80s. And every single one of the top comedians of that time listed above and said they owe him for opening those comedic doors. Now there, you learned a little something as my response was to point out how backward it has gone gotten, ESPECIALLY in these last few years. But I am nerved that you felt a need to respond by expressing your xenophobia rather than take a tad time to learn something before responding. I ask, just stop with this. I'm tired of the negativity. I'm tired of the ignorance, and I am fed up with those not wanting to hold a conversation or a dialogue but to start arguments and negativity across the web, and think by displaying their ignorance with it is witty. It's not, and it shall be ignored.
