This man was such a sweetheart of a person. I’m a straight heterosexual man, but I absolutely loved watching Richard Simmons every morning! He had so much caring and compassion and he helped so many people to change the way they lived their lives and to eat more healthy. His commitment to helping others was genuine, and up until his passing he never stopped his mission of helping others. God Bless this sweet man.🙏🏾

He really was as genuine as you'll find. A bright light in this world and a truly remarkable person who did indeed take a lot of shit. But he remained himself and never faltered. We took him for granted while he was alive, though a lot of folks did try to make sure he was okay since he became somewhat of a recluse during his final ten years or so. At least he knew we cared. RIP Richard.

He did wear pants a lot in the early 80's. Probably right here is the first time he wore them on national television in years. I got a feeling it was one of Richard's last public appearances before he went into insecurity. Plus, it wasn't just him. A lot of celebrities who are about to either get out of the public eye or feeling ill. Celebrities usually go back to the way they were base on their appearance or clothes when they had first made their public appearance at the beginning of their careers. For example, Prince and Audrey Hepburn.

Instead he tells people just to get outside and be active. Once you start exercising your body AND mind will change.
