One thing you have to always remember is that our domesticated rabbits come from European rabbits, European rabbits live in social groups, warrens. Think of watership down. Eastern cottontails are more solitary creatures, the only time they live in family groups is when they are babies. Your domesticated bunny wants to play and make friends and eastern cottontail is like "why are you not fighting me?"the way they fight for territory is they kind of do high jump kick. Domesticated bunny is a little bit slower and chunkier than a wild rabbit but still cute. You need to be careful because wild rabbits can spread diseases to domesticated rabbits.Rabbit Hemorrhagic Disease is one of those, causes internal bleeding and death. They spread it through direct contact or through shared food. Wild rabbits and domesticated rabbits can't interbreed so you won't have to worry about that.

Hi, I’m spreading the Gospel may you be blessed in JESUS CHRIST name *What is the Gospel?* The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ. Ephesians 2:8-9 For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Romans 10:9 9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. JESUS CHRIST can come anytime! Just Believe ❤️ Love you and GOD BLESS

For anyone wondering: The house rabbit is curious about the wild rabbit, its sniffing curiously without a sign of lunging, kicking or any aggressive behavior. The wild one is very catious, quickly jumping, running away when the other one gets too close. This is what you'd call a default behavior of a prey animal, se he isn't exactly scared, just wary. They are both curious about each other, thus no aggression other than the accidental kick from the wild rabbit. Side Note: Giving away a rabbit because your family don't consider it fun anymore and saying it would be happier with someone else is the most cowardly thing to do. I rescued a rabbit from one such a person, they my sweet bunny Cuki for their daughter who was 5 years old. But once they got a dog they just kept the poor thing in a cage. There was plenty of space, they just didn't care about him anymore... His nails were overgrown, his fur matted and his teeth needed tending. Their daughter managed to rip one of his nails off and now he doesn't let anything touch them. I rescued him in spite of having 2 other rabbits. Now they're living happily with me in an APARTMENT! I have less space than a family of 5 yet my bunnies have enough space to binky around. Take care of your damn pet, its not a toy for little children.

When I was very young and inexperienced, my first pet rabbit ran away. We lived on a fairly large acreage, with plenty of cottontails. I figure it died pretty quickly, but I always found it nice to imagine what interactions it could've had with the wild bunnies.
@CosplayBuddies2 жыл бұрын
This reminded me how my childhood pet rabbit ran away, she had an enclosure outside for good summer days but she managed to make a slightly bigger hole in the wire fence to escape. I remember crying my eyes out and scared for her, we lived close to a road that had a lot of large trucks going through as there was a factory close by. We were sure she'd never be found, but after 3 days our neighbor, over on the other side of the truck road, called that she had been found! We hadn't even told them she went missing, as we were sure she wouldn't survive that far, but when the mother of that family was driving home that day, a rabbit came out of a bush on their driveway, the mother wasn't driving fast so she stopped in time to not run over it. She watched in confusion as this rabbit wasn't running away, after a little while she remembered that we had a pet rabbit that looked just like that. It is possible. I found a rabbit in the wild that based on behavior and size was clearly once a domesticated rabbit that had either escaped or been abandoned. I watched it and its buddy outside my house for a few weeks before I finally took it in. My suspicions on its past were confirmed when it proved to be already potty trained. @chaychay47952 жыл бұрын
If they were "curious" like at the beginning, they'd still be sniffing each other. The wild one let the tame rabbit near it when it was sniffing, when rabbits chase in circles it means one is trying to nip the other, they attack their hinds when they are irritated to try and get them away. The jack doesn't want a fight obvs otherwise the tame rabbit would be done for.
@chaychay47952 жыл бұрын
You can see them nipping, doesn't look horrible right now but it can get horrible. After a few minutes the tame one would've made the mistake of trying to bite under the stomach and would've wound up with giant gashes from the jack kicking it. I own a lionhead/lop cross, although I love her, she's VERY aggressive. Other rabbits do not stand a chance around her, and she has beaten the shit out of another rabbit I was looking to adopt (I obvs said no because I didn't want to harm that bunny just because I thought it was cute). That being said, I used to have a male who was extremely docile and tame (males are submissive to females) and when it came around time when he wanted to mate, she made it known she didn't want him by kicking tf outta him. They grew up together so I never thought she would hurt the dude but yeah, I ended up rehoming him. She also is mean to my cat (territorial) when she sees my cat in her space she will try to nip her tail and back legs, (ofc she's a cat so she just simply swats her head and my rabbit freaks out) I know if she were to meet a jack, she would not go down without a nASTY fight. Rabbits are a lot more aggressive than these owners are assuming right now. They do often fight till the death for territory, mating and just getting pissed off at one another.

Then at night driving or walking the dog a wild hare would hang around the bunny. I have never seen a wild hare around our neighborhood wild rabbits but not hares. One day bunny wasn't at home and no one knew what happened. Lucky bunny was de-sexed as someone saw hare and bunny down the road. Looks like they ran off together. Then the neighbour got a cat.

Its so funny to see the domestic rabbit enter "friend mode" almost immediately while the wild bunny has to take time to finally get their and enjoy themselves. Absolutely loved this little interaction
@1bun2bun8 ай бұрын
That was not "friend mode" that was "who are you and why are you in my space mode" I will agree that it's hard to see past how adorable bunnies can be, but those rabbits were fighting and that situation was very dangerous, one of them could've hurt the other or worse.
@ARandomEliatrope7 ай бұрын
this isn't playing, it's not "friend mode", this is territorial behavior, i've seen my own rabbits do this themselves, this is a dominance thing, they aren't "enjoying themselves", the wild rabbit literally kicks the domesticated one multiple times.

People were breeding too many upstate and couldn't sell them after Easter so they would release them into the wild. Unless that Dwarf Hotot came up to the wild rabbit, I don’t recommend putting your rabbit in situations like this. Even then I recommend keeping your rabbit away from wild rabbits, because rabbits can be extremely territorial, and they may start to fight eachother. In this case, though, luckily, they were not aggressive. So if you know for a fact that neither rabbits will get hurt, it may be fine to do this, but please make sure you know your stuff. @StarryScribbles2 жыл бұрын
also looks like the wild one bit the pet 2-3 times, wild rabbit bites can often be quite serious to a domesticated rabbit if not treated and trust me when I say rabbits can kick really hard, that was quite a nasty kick that wild one gave it. Plus it's so hard to check for injury under all the fur. What may have looked all cute and fun for those people was definitely something unknown and stressful for the pet rabbit... They really should've tried to scare the wild one away, the pet was clearly breathing pretty hard near the end. (although I do have a pet rabbit who can totally hold her own and has even killed rats before we got rat proofing, not all pets are as strong) (backing you up here, not saying you don't know, just adding more perspective for others haha)
