Brother, we could all be watching other folks catch fish, but we all love watching you because yes you catch a lot of fish, but you teach us, you entertain us, and you aren't afraid to share your faith with us. Keep up the great work and give Momma Sue our love!

Exactly Gene is fun to learn from. He doesn’t try to click bait either. That’s why he’s the best fisherman to learn from. Honesty is hard to find today…

Richard, I recently found your channel. I'm a pretty doggone good trout, steelhead and salmon fly fisherman. But, we left the (Left coast) Pacific NW to retire away from the insane politics, and moved to South Carolina where people are more normal and where my vote may count once in a while. I don't know much of anything about warm water fishing, but I'm aiming to learn. I will still go out West for a fishing trip each year, but you have helped me add a whole other dimension to my fishing. I never fished when it was this hot before! Thank you for all the tips. I caught my first Crappie the other day from a kayak based on your advice. You are the best. God Bless, brother. (I accidentally added this comment to an older video then correctly added it here).

There's one person I've ever seem that compares to him cat hing crappie. I use to go to the Salina inside dock there was this old woman there everyday she only used a black hair jig and she'd fill her basket up everyday with 10-12 inch crappie even when nobody else was catching sny. I watched her close and tried to mimmick exactly what she did. It was just pure experience she'd mastered how to swim them jigs where they were unresistable in anytime of year

They taught me how to fish ...well Should I say.. they started me fishing.. But you sir in the last 4 years, have taught me more About fishing Then watching them guys for the last 30 years. . Not putting them down at all, they're great guys, but your knowledge, and the way you show it to us makes the difference 2:54

Up here in Michigan no shad. We use fat head minnows or, emerald shiners. Emerald shiners are hard to come by lately. We buy them or use a minnow trap with bread or pack bait( oatmeal). Throw nets are illegal. I used to fish a bridge at night with a few street lights on it. Sometimes it was fish after fish. They have replaced the bridge and I haven’t tried it. These natural lakes here if ya want to catch them in summer, fish at night.
