Experts aren't always right about everything lol. I've caught A LOT of flatheads on cut bait big and small. Several over 60# on cut bait. I guess just being at the right place and right time is key.

I caught a 36lb flathead on a nightcrawler during the day on 10lb mono fishing walleye on a medium action rod. Wow what a fight. Took 45min to get Him.

Speaking of Steve Douglas the catfish king rod holders, before I found this channel. Steve Douglas was the only page I watched. He’s a good dude and very knowledgeable guy. He’s not as crazy as Richard. And I believe Richard knows as much about all species as Steve does about catfish. Lol.

I'm hoping your scale didn't go much further than 38 pounds. Either that or you forgot to weigh the blue and last flathead. That blue had about 5-10 pounds on that first one but that humongous one was at least 55 but I'll say 60. Wow. I forgot to thank you for taking us with you.
