Richer Beaver Dam Removal #1 of 4

Back to this place again, 😁 🦫 🦫 🦫
I got called out to go get the water moving here before it's time for the farmers to cut their hay. I had to travel quite a bit to get all the dams, 4 in total. It was about 5 km (3 miles) of canoeing each way. Stay tuned until the end for a time laps version of the dam pull, photos, and the canoe ride down the stream. There was a lot of good scenery and critters at this place. Finding good 📸 locations was difficult on this one. I couldn't get as close as I would have liked.

Thanks, Southernbiscuits! The deer 🪰's were pretty bad. They are the worst in the canoe while moving. They lighten up once I get out for a bit. They are tough little buggers. An ordinary slap doesn't take them out. You really have to hit them. Or they just get up and fly away, lol

@@geneplumley4136, yes the whole laundry room got a face lift and repairs. Thank you for asking. Drywalling, taping, painting and finally I repurposed some old tiles and cut them for the baseboard (dull blade on the cutter). I need the plumber for the leaky faucet and change of drain pipe for the new tub I snuck in the house! 🤣 I’ve never attempted soldering…the blowtorch scares the hell out of me, other than that, I’ll pretty much try anything once! 🤪 Take care…

That bird was pretty pissed I caught it, lol. It was just a baby hoping around my driveway. Most the creatures I catch are pretty unhappy about it, 😆

Wow that canoe ride was entrancing. The scenery in Ontario is amazing, so beautiful. I just posted a question on "Beaver dam removal with canoe ride" about getting a camera POV at the front, which you can ignore (obviously). Have you looked into buying an electric outboard motor? It would only be useful on clear stretches of water, but it would give your poor back a rest.

Thanks, NiceLoki It is nice here, I am very lucky. I have thought about getting a small motor, but I kind of like using as little as possible. Pulling it over the dams and crossing land would be a chore, as well. As the years go on, I am sure a motor is in my future, 😆. 🛶 💪.

Talking cameras ive tried so many, cant use a gopro, my left hand cant grip things, so only use the right one, today i ordered 2 pir alarm and recivers, i sit in 1 room the camera setup is next door, the alarm will tell me when theres something to shoot, will let you know if it works👍

Good question. I have never left here to trap beavers. Everything I do is a 30 min or less drive away. 🦫 🦫 🦫 There are soooo many here.

england has very little woodland left now they couldnt survive , well in small places the might, sad we dont have much left, guns are NOT LEGAL HERE either thats one good thing👍

Gene just thinking, you could use a doorbell camera linked to your phone as long as it has a PIR function on it, record any movement while your away, these things are weather proof 🦫🦆🦬👍

That was definitely it! I had never seen a male one like that before. It was neat seeing him carry the eggs. I see the females all the time. I used to catch them as a child. Dozens of them would fly around the flood lights and fall to the ground. Thanks, Murray! 🪲 🐞 🪰 🦟 🦗🕷🐜
