For as phenomenal as Floor is, Nightwish had 17 years of gold & platinum success before Tuomas officially hired Floor in October of 2013. Original vocalist & co-founder, Tarja, was listed as an inspiration by Floor. 🙂 And they are actually pretty cool friends.🤘❤🤘

One of the early Songs, (1998/1999 Tarja era), it is about the solar eclips in Finland(and other European and Azian countrys) on 11 of August 1999,,, **** 222 days of light **** is from 1/1/1999 up to the eclips. At that time their german record Label asked to write a song about it. One of the terms was " not longer than 3 minutes", Knowing Tuomas, he made it 4+

As you probably know, there has been three singers for Nightwish. The middle singer Anette struggled with live performances, but the album version of 'Meadows of Heaven' was probably her best work. Thats, when German Broadcaster ask Tuomas for an 4 Minute Track radio friendly for the Sun Eclipse back then 24 Years ago. Tarja and Floor are my 2 beloved Singers of this Band, not bcs Annette is by any means not at their Level, simply ...its not my Style of Music. But thanks to her, the whole Band got more versatile, bcs there were no one to simply belt left. In this Perspective, nowadays Nightwish wouldnt be that good all around, if Annette havent been there. Tarja sings parts of this exceptionally well, better than Floor, but her accent/pronunciation/enunciation in other parts is a bit off-putting. Floor's performance is more consistent and more enjoyable. IMO

Some people prefer the Tarja version. I personally prefer Floor, something about Tarja's voice just doesn't do it for me. But it's like taste in anything, it's subjective to a certain degree. There is no "wrong" singer.
