Back in the 90’s I was in the VIP room at the Roxbury in Hollywood and watching all the hilariously self absorbed people around me. Then I saw Carbajal standing up against the wall with this little mullet and tail and couldn’t believe my eyes. So I went up to him and introduced myself and told him that he was one of my favorite fighters. Nobody there had any idea who this little Latino kid was which was a total shame. He was an absolutely incredible fighter and I let him know it. So Michael, if you’re reading this, I was that 6’5 Whiteboy that was the only guy there who knew who you were. What fools they were. Lol

Hey Whiteboy, thank you for the humility....We Mexicans have to take it sometime, literally to be respected ...especially us native/ugly looking ones.

The fact you’re obviously at least in your 40’s at a minimum and referred to yourself as a “whiteboy” is so fkn hysterical and embarrassing at the same time !!

One of the most exciting lower-weight fighters I’ve ever seen. Great combination puncher and super tough with a great chin. When hurt, he was even meaner. He took some bombs from Kittikasem, who was a hell of a puncher.

You've done it, ONCE again! I'm not surprised, Rich. You really are the FIGHT Historian! Michael Carbajal's toughest battles remained outside of the ring. The toughest battles for everyone is usually the spiritual battles. As long as people neglect their spiritual developments, growth, and maturity, no matter how physically fit, financially secure, or popular you are, madness and insanity will ensue. ✝🛐🕊⚓🔨📖🗡✝🥊🙏💞 ✝Fighting the good fight of faith; EVERYDAY!

Born in 79, I was a teen when he was at his peak, I used to stay up until 2am to watch hbo, Carbajal was a big star that brought a lot of fans to the smaller weights. Us English love our boxing itv was great but not as good as the lucky ones who got sky TV when it 1st came out, I miss hbo, the intro music used to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I own thousands of dvds and thousands of vhs and I'm telling you Michael Carbajal is one of the greatest in the last 50yrs of boxing.

Being robbed by one's own family is a pain that stabs deep into one's soul, these guys put their live on the line just so some leeches can try to live off their hard work, total disgrace, guys like Danny Carbajal and Mike Rossman's father are scum worse than all the Don Kings of the world, King might had done a lot more damage overall but these guys sank as low as to betray their own blood for some coins.

Another great one Rich, but damn always a sad ending. I was a big fan of Michael and remember watching the Gonzales fight live! Never thought Chaquita ever REALLY beat Michael. The two "wins" were snooze fests. I know its called boxing and not knock out, but Chaquita was known as puncher and credit to him for adapting for the victories, but really uneventful fights. It was disappointing to hear about Michael's fall from grace, he always seemed like a good guy. But fighters are usually fighters for a reason and unfortunately most go back to those ways when the lights dim and the crowds disappear

Cuando comenzó el video se ve a Danny el hermano de Michael, hablando y diciendo que él le ayudaba a entrenar a su hermano porque lo quería mucho y que él no lo hacía por dinero y mira lo que hizo? Chale.
