@Ninja07Keaton7 жыл бұрын
The reason most people hate Jerry, is because they see themselves in Jerry. Jerry is more or less a deconstruction of the common man. Ridged, self assured, shortsighted, and seldom if ever admits to his flaws. Not exactly a mystery why the majority of the audience hates Jerry when they themselves are dealing with a self loathing cycle of repression for not being perfect. When looking at Jerry, they're essentially looking into a mirror rather they're consciously aware of it or not.
@MrStoffzor7 жыл бұрын
While your general point may be true (I don't know myself, I never hated Jerry, rather pitied and envied him at the same time) don't you think you contradict yourself when saying he is self assured while feeling self loathing for not being perfect?
@leemav51367 жыл бұрын
Ninja07Keaton very good point
@Ninja07Keaton7 жыл бұрын
MrStoffzor I will explain. You see on some level, we're all aware that the world and by extension, humanity is inherently flawed. However, few people have the courage to fully accept this truth for all that it implies. In order to compensate, they join a facade that society creates to hide their flaws. But of course, it is nothing more than a facade, not a true absolution from their flaws. Their dogmatic attachment to the concept of society is where the self assurance I was speaking of resides. "Concept" being the orepertive word because as I said, it's all about hiding their flaws behind a metaphorical mask. The self assurance that this facade will negate their flaws, that this "veil" will never be removed. To put it in simple terms, Jerry has unyielding faith in the system to compartmentalize his flaws. But he hates himself because he can nether live up to the system nor has the courage to come to terms with his flaws.

@sirnilsolav66467 жыл бұрын
Too be honest I actually like Jerry. He is actually quite right about Rick and how he is a toxic influence on his family. Don't get me wrong, I love Rick just as much as the next guy, but you have to agree that he isn't a great influence on the family. Morty and Summer both look up to him, but Rick never acknowledges how lucky he is to have such devoted grankids, instead he punishes such behaviour and constantly writes off notions of love as "irrational". Rick also exposes the family to a lot of danger, forcing them to flee from their previous life because of his actions and the family is 100% behind this and Rick doesn't reward them or appreciate them for doing it. Rather he expects them to follow him or is completely indifferent to them. Jerry is right about Rick and how he is a negative influence to Morty, Summer and Beth, at the same time Rick is right about Jerry and how Jerry is sort of a parasite. This makes for an interesting relationship between them. My point is, Jerry has a role in the show besides being pathetic and it's to be an opposition to Rick just doing whatever he wants with no consequence over the family.
@sirnilsolav66467 жыл бұрын
The dynamic between Rick and Jerry worked great in the early seasons. Yes he was punish bag, but Beth pretty much let Rick do whatever he wanted, Jerry kept him in check. Beth suffers from too much abandonment issues that she's too afraid to stand up to Rick, while Jerry thinks about his family first and foremost and sees Rick as ruining the family. This made for interesting plot development as Rick would have to find a way to get around Jerry when he said Morty needs to stay in school.

I don't hate Jerry. His family is pretty awful to him. Beth is emotionally abusive and Summer and Morty rarely show him any respect. His selfishness, cowardice, and constant need for validation is just a defense mechanism. We don't really see what kind of father/husband Jerry was before Rick started living with them. Don't get me wrong, he's still pretty awful, but understandably so. It's just easier for Jerry to live in blissful ignorance than cope with the fact that his family doesn't really care about him.
@laurenbi7 жыл бұрын
I agree, I think blaming the disfunction of the family solely on Jerry is incorrect. Eric Miret she’s literally a surgeon. And Summer’s intelligence is more a ‘wit. Her wittiness is one of her key character traits.
@emilysmith35945 жыл бұрын
Summer has shown herself time and time again to be more capable of surviving Rick’s adventures than Morty. She steps up and assumes whatever social role is needed to get everyone out alive (e.g. posing as Earth’s ruler on Gazorpazorp and earning the respect and awe of the warring tribes of Mad Max-esque world). She shows a regard for sentient life that Rick has either lost, or never had in the first place (e.g. refusing to allow the ship’s KEEP SUMMER SAFE protocol to run in a deadly way). Like Rick, she has a self-aware catchphrase. This hints at her potential to break the fourth wall as the series continues. The episode Morty’s Mind-Blowers shows her competence at ROUTINELY stopping Rick and Morty from killing themselves (“Is this a Scenario 3, Grandpa?”). She has all this adaptability and grit, in addition to an optimism about the world, and even about Rick, that NOBODY else on the show can maintain. The main evidence of this is that Summer ALWAYS calls Rick “Grandpa” or “Grandpa Rick.” The show has never once defied that continuity. It’s even more consistent than Rick not wearing a seatbelt.
@emilysmith35945 жыл бұрын
Is it so impossible for you to give women credit for their intelligence that even fictional women can’t earn it? Summer is highly intelligent, and also the single most well-adjusted character in the show. She shares a lot of traits with Rick, including some of his negative ones (a deep and abiding need for large-scale approval, a penchant for insulting Jerry), but she draws the line at existential despair. The one time she gets near that line, Morty asks her to trust him instead, and she actually does. Summer is the one who handles Mind-Blower mishaps. Summer kills most of the alien parasites while the others can barely tell them apart, with no mistakes. Summer accepts that her generation “is traumatized for breakfast” and decides to live her life as best as she can, “out there carpin’ them diems.” She avoids appearing too smart and favors not turning mean, revealing in Lawnmower Dog that “this is why I get C’s.” She regularly outperforms Rick on his own missions. She gets very little credit for this, even within the show. She appears annoyed by this, but much like girls and women IRL, realizes that trying to tell men they’re outclassed is usually a waste of time. In conclusion, Summer doesn’t need a punch card to take charge of an adventure. She just does it.

His only redeeming quality is litelary just his intelligence. But he somehow thinks that him being intelligent grants him domain over everything and everyone, he throws out all morals of the window because he can get away with it. He abuses not only strangers but family aswell! And for what? Most of the time his goal is to get his hands on means of more hedonistic pleasures. Jerry is an asshole aswell in his own ways but he is litelary the only person that managed to put Rick in his place for once even if indirectly and that's actually great! Generally anyone that acts like the avarage Rick fan boy is no genious and we all know it already, it's been memed out dry already. Rick represents the idea that knowledge, power and intelligence leads to misery, lonelyness, existential crisis and a loss of morals. It's insanity, and absolutely wrong, This specific form of nihilism is the most self destructive worldview anyone could have. I disagree with the dunning kruger effect, I think Jerry completely knows he's not that smart and definitely not as smart as his wife or her father, he's only doing pure bad faith with them because the survival of his ego depends on it. Jerry probably had a massive lack of love and/or recognition in childhood which led to a huge insecurity regarding his legitimity, his place in the universe and his connection to other people. That's why emotionally he constantly make it all about himself, and can't stand that one person doesn't like him, because he thinks that the success/failure of his relation with sb is always on him, that the person in front of him is always worth more than him, so that he always has to fix things even if it means to degrade himself (which inevitably leads to more rejection) He tries to fool people by playing the self-assured dude but he only manages to be heavy and inspire pity to the others people who dont buy it. The exception is in 1x06, where a terrifying survival situation surprisingly seems to turn him into a confident man who doesn't give a sh*t about what people may think about him, like if Jerry's core just emerged. So it makes me think that all his usual faults don't come from his real temper but have been added by some bad experiences

Jerry got the most character development throughout the series so far, if you ask me..Rick comes into his otherwise happy, "normal" life, and from the moment he comes back into the picture, Rick is stealing away his personal time with his kids, and getting more respect from Beth than Jerry has ever gotten. Jerry expresses genuine, believable, and, believe it or not, JUSTIFIED jealousy, anger, and resentment toward Rick. He starts off as this cowardly doofus who just wants the love and respect of his family, which he had, mostly, until Rick came back into the picture. Now Jerry has to work EXTRA hard not to be seen as the sort of "fifth Wheel" of the family...Every other member of the family in a position of authority is smarter than he is, more capable, and easily reads a room..they don't have to work as hard to be seen as an equal as he does, and he feels genuine resentment for the way everyone treats him, and he has every right to. The kids he helped sire don't respect him, his wife doesn't respect him, and Rick has often shown utter disdain for the man who gave him two wonderful, if not a bit spoiled, grandkids that he takes for granted just because there are a bajillion versions of them out there. Jerry doesn't care that there are billions of versions, almost infinite, of his kids, wife, etc...All he knows and cares about is that these are HIS wife and kids that Rick is CONSTANTLY putting in dangerous situations, and he is justifiably put off by Rick's behavior. From drugs to drinking, he sets a bad example of how to interact with your family, and that negative behavior kind of rubs off on Beth, Summer, and Morty, to the point that Jerry doesn't feel like he's important to his family anymore. The turning point comes when Rick is goaded by Morty to take Jerry on an adventure to boost his self-esteem a bit..He wants Rick and Jerry, seemingly genuinely, to learn how to get along, or to at least make the effort. Rick FINALLY spends more than a handful of minutes in Jerry's company, and for the first time EVER, actually seems to enjoy spending a little time with him, legitimately, rather than it just being a "Pity adventure". Their relationship as Father-in-law and Son-in-Law turns away from this rocky point in their lives when Rick is subsequently forced into a plot against Jerry...He's conflicted from the start, as he is somewhat hesitant to agree to the plan to begin with, but his anger is still bubbling beneath the surface over how Rick treats not only him and his family, but apparently the entire multiverse. Jerry is legitimately angry with Rick still, once the villain of the episode goads him into joining in on their plans...Jerry seems, at first, to be someone who is a follower..he's not too sure how to go about making decisions on his own, especially when he believes his life may be in danger. His flight response is extremely strong and overpowering, most of the time, even when his family is in danger (But, note that his first instinct when he was escaping from the alien HQ as the top-ranked general was to return home and find out if his kids and wife were okay) Jerry is caught in a middle-ground gray area in every dimension he's in.. He's either extremely successful and lonely as fuck, or he's a complete loser...there are very few instances where Jerry is clearly in control of himself and knows what needs to be done...In the Kroninberg Universe that Rick practically destroyed, Jerry comes into his own the moment things get out of hand and his family is facing certain death. It's clear by this Jerry's actions that Jerry has a great deal of potential to be a true leader, though still somewhat clumsily awkward in his actions, such as the way he talks during the next trip to the Kroninberg Universe...This means that Jerry DOES have the potential to be a great father and leader of the pack, but OUR Jerry has not yet been forced into that situation, so he has not had to face down his fears. Rick and Jerry, on their personal adventure, finally have it out in a verbal altercation, where Jerry finally admits his true reasons for disliking Rick..and Rick makes Jerry face facts as well..He forces Jerry to understand why he doesn't like him. And despite the fact that Rick has no respect for Jerry, Jerry understands that Rick, for the first time, is showing some tough love and finally explaining what pisses him off so much about Jerry. Jerry actually takes this to heart, as nobody had ever had the nerve to just come out and say, finally, why they dislike him so much as a person, but were always sugarcoating it for him. With the sugar-coated goodness finally gone from the facade, and their grievances finally aired, they can begin to find some kind of common ground from which to start from. By the end of the Episode, they understand one another to an extent. Jerry is genuinely glad that they had their adventure together, and Rick seems to have gotten a bit of enjoyment out of it as well. Jerry begins his journey to becoming self-sustaining and less of a "parasite" after this point. He even goes so far as to try dating someone else to keep his mind off of his wife and kids, but despite this, he's still lonely and misses them..he becomes more balanced in a way for a short time due to his new date's powers and ability to teach him how to handle his emotions more maturely. He eventually learns to just go with the flow and take everything in stride..he understands that things are meant to happen in their own time, and he shows Beth that he truly loves and knows her. He shows his true love by reminding her of their first kiss and everything. Jerry is pretty much the "Everyman"...He's not stupid, he's not a genius..he's just an average joe, struggling to find his place amongs people smarter and braver than he is. We all know old habits are hard to break, but Jerry tries, and actually grows, from the point where he and Rick have their big fight, into a character who isn't resented so much, and people begin to embrace him as a character more due to his development. He's become the "Everyman" character, and I think that's why a lot of people resent him. A lot of people still hate Jerry, and I think it's because they see their own limitations in the character and they project their own insecurities on to the character, much like Jerry used to project his insecurities on to Rick, and, to a lesser extent, his own family.

For example, we see this in modern politics all the time. Jerry is basically a guy who wants to be appreciated for who he is (...actually we all do). Sometimes he takes his own lack of confidence issues too far for his own good, which upon being witnessed - may trigger our own, which can mask as superiority. Compassion is a separate capacity to develop from sense-making and that’s what breaks the cycle. But sense-making can inform compassion. It all starts with understanding the parallel truths that that we are enough, yet we are able to change and continually grow. This defeats the self-induced pressures we allow ourselves to unfairly bear.

Jerry's family was crashed by Rick, who seems to only sow division. Everyone knows someone like Jerry, and I would wager a guess that most families have a Jerry type figure. This show essentially illustrates how not to be a family - which is to be hard on people who can't really do any better. However, I still don't know that Jerry is all that bad. He's just not an acerbic prick like everyone else on the show. From my perspective, and not looking at Jerry as simply a plot device or foil, the family appears to just torture Jerry and never throws him out. You would think that if you're going to run your household like some sort of Darwinian environment, you should expel those that don't make the cut rather than constantly throw it in their face. Rick has clearly won and Jerry lost. Furthermore, I've stated this before - no one in real life would put up with what Jerry has endured. He's only 35 according to the story line. He would simply leave and get with another woman who appreciated him more. I guess the crux of my comment here is that Rick and Morty is sort of mysandric ant-father bullshit. If you don't like fathers and men, we don't have to stick around. I certainly wouldn't if I were Jerry and I would never let people treat me like that. I would simply cut them all out, without the slightest remorse. Fuck em.

@@Ihaveno_ideangl Took a family away from Rick? No. Beth had the option of aborting Summer or of raising Summer alone. She chose to do neither. Notice the onus is on Beth here. She made the decision to let Jerry into her life. Where does her moral agency come into play? Also, clearly Beth wanted someone who was not like her father, who is an emotionally cold, narcissist. Taking a family away presumes that one's parents always have access to their children well into adulthood, which in the Western world is simply not the tradition. In America, it's expected that you grow up, and move out, preferably starting your own family. In Beth and Jerry's case, this exact thing occurred. Rick coming back into the picture and insisting on living with them is not the norm, and furthermore, he's not even a good house guest, and attempts to pit everyone in the house against Jerry. Finally, let's come to terms with the obvious fact that Rick has no reason to live with Jerry and Beth. He's supposedly the smartest person in the universe (which btw is so incredibly ridiculous that it's impossible to suspend disbelief). But, in this vein, Rick could create another family where the dynamic of Jerry is totally absent. He could also recreate his lost wife. His refusal to do either of these things shows his stupidity, especially in the face of purporting to be a nihilist. He seems to exist in the current paradigm partially to make Jerry miserable. In other words, in a perverse way, he likes Jerry's presence.

Since I watched Rick and Morty, I didn't have any problems and I completed it in 30 minutes. The next day, I got to see the results and I passed the exam with a score of 100%. They gave me the title "Smartest Man in Existence". Guess I am out of this world.

It's been pointed out by Rick himself that he manipulated the family into hating and neglecting Jerry. Also, even if it isn't true, that third scene where Jerry was talking about Morty with his weakness in school wasn't being stupid. Even Rick acknowledges that Morty is slow in the end of the episode and Jerry was just looking out for his son. He isn't perfect, but I thought the fandom was just memeing when they hate on him.

Jerry is at his best when he actually tries instead of weakling his way out. He fought off the Jerry slugs to save Beth. He saved Rick from someone that was trying to kill him. And he tried to stop Phoniex Person from killing Rick and the two Beth's. The people around Jerry seem to appreciate him more when he actually puts in real effort rather than when he tries to pity his way out of situations.

And actually i don't hate Jerry, i really think that ignorance is bliss. Although Rick is much more intelligent than Jerry, i don't really see Rick as happy individual. Underneath all his facade Rick is really deeply broken person, and Jerry on other hand is simple man who found his meaning in a simple things. P.S. I have gut feeling that at some point in the show creators probably include some remixed version of song by lynyrd skynyrd - simple man as tribute to Jerry. ;)

Ti My Asking your teenage daughter for a few hundred bucks to call a toll number for fun rather then asking her for a newspaper to continue to look for a new job, so you can provide for your family instead of asking them to do so for you; is pretty strong proof. Also "If you ever sleep with that guy i'll come to the hotel and blow my brains out all over your naked bodies." Not kick the guys ass, or take a pic for proof and try to leave her with the kids on his side, poor Jerry will kill himself and your gonna have to feel guilt forever.
@Paragon2317 жыл бұрын
There's actually plenty of evidence. Him begging his daughter for money after pretending that he's interested in hanging out with her, playing the pity card after somebody "insults his intelligence"(actually just pointing out how dumb he really is), constantly complaining that Beth treats him like he's a subhuman man (even though he himself doesn't show a spine and is basically just asking for it), claims that Rick is a bad influence but barely does anything to remove him from the equation.

I often cringe when I see fans hate on Jerry and idolize Rick. I don't think they realize that the real reason Rick hates Jerry is due to jealousy. Rick is the most accomplished being in all reality who can literally do anything, but he's miserable. Jerry on the other hand is fulfilled just by having a job and his family. And that's a good thing. That actually makes Jerry the most mentally healthy and admirable character in the show. The only reason fans hate on Jerry is that everyone else does, and they think that makes them cool when really it makes them pathetic. Rick, Beth, and Summer are pathetic people who are never happy and need to make others feel small and miserable just to cope because they can't enjoy the little things in life that are actually important. They care only about the big things - the achievements that set them apart from everyone else - like being the best, the smartest, the most wanted, the most powerful, etc. But none of that matters (and they know that), and they just can't accept any alternative. But Jerry CAN. He's content. He's happy. At least he is until people envious of his happiness get mad and try to take it away from him. They hate that he can care about the little things that aren't important because they can't deal with the fact that the big things in life they struggle to attain turn out to not be important in the end. This series, like many modern satires, appeals to young people of this generation because of its nihilistic themes, and think it's speaking for them. But I don't think they realize yet that this show is showing them that nihilism is BAD and they shouldn't worry about being big and impressive like Rick, but should instead strive to appreciate life like Jerry.

IQ does not equal intelligence, it's more of a shot in the dark that examines how fast you can regurgitate information in a book. If you want real knowledge you gotta go out and find it on your own. Science is speculation and most of it isn't objective, you change what you observe and therefore cannot make accurate observations even with a control.

@krystinajones17537 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm... No. I don't just hate Jerry because he's stupid, which is what this video seems to be saying. Jerry is one of the least likeable people in the show because, as you said, we don't see him change much from the begginning. And, in the end, all he does is benefit from it. His family end up being fine dealing with him and accepting that there isn't anything you can do about all the Jerrys in the world. Even though he's racist, sexist, whiney, manipulative, pitiful, dumb, and does nothing to change any of that. His actions show that on top of all of that, he only barely cares about his family enough to do anything about it after he loses them. He's a coward, and yes, recognizes why people hate him and that they are flaws, yet chooses to change none of them. That's why I hate Jerry. As for claiming that hating Jerry is akin to hating people of below average intelligence or with large character flaws, especially those that may not have a choice in their position, it just doesn't work.
@cjdixon19957 жыл бұрын
Krystina Jones I respect your opinion on this and I agree with what you said. But mind you. Jerry was the first person to see something wrong with Beth and Rick's relationship before anyone else on the show. You have to give him props for that. Granted he might have been too much of a wimp, and yes he does need to change but at least he puts his family first before himself when it matters the most. Beth failed to do that, and she's the mother of the family. She focuses on herself and worries about her abandonment issues too much to even care to see that her family is falling apart because of it. Jerry tried to tell her, the Family Therapist tried telling her, and EVEN MORTY Snapped on her because of it. But eventually she found out on her own in the episode "The ABC's of Beth". Every character in this show has something that they can't or refuse to change about themselves. I consider Jerry to be more-so a late bloomer as far as all of this is concerned.
@krystinajones17537 жыл бұрын
Cameron Dixon True, I didn't really take other characters flaws into consideration here. Most likely because even though everyone on this show has major problems that they tend to ignore, I just dislike Jerry the most. Is that because the show constantly rags on him? Probably. But also because I just really have a problem with the cowardly aspects of his character. I have some higher degrees of respect for the other characters in that when something goes wrong, they don't immediately belly up and try to worm (ha, worm) their way out. But maybe my dislike of Jerry specifically is just a character flaw that I'm ignoring. Eh I still don't like him
@cjdixon19957 жыл бұрын
Krystina Jones Aye your choice is your choice Lol. I just feel like every character is effed up in someway so it's hard for me to completely hate Jerry when everybody has their moments where they pissed me off. Beth pisses me off the most though. Especially when she immediately changed her mind about Jerry getting his penis removed all because she looked at the damn prosthetics they could replace Jerry's penis with for her. And I think I speak for everyone when I say I wanted to slap Rick upside the head when he said "Who the f*** is Noob-Noob?"
@krystinajones17537 жыл бұрын
Cameron Dixon Lmao definitely! I guess in the show I have the most problem with the parental figures. The only thing that helps Beth for me more than Rick or Jerry is that she at least stayed with the kids. Its kinda hard to hate one of the two stars of the show though, at least if you want to keep watching. Honestly we can't even blame the characters for their flaws because they have to have them. If anyone, let alone most or all of them, were without flaws it would be boring. Nothing would ever happen, and shows have to have conflict. Truthfully Jerry is just the least likeable character. The most I see to like about him is that in the end he seems to be more involved and present, but really if Beth herself hadn't gone to him I'm not sure that would have even happened.
@cjdixon19957 жыл бұрын
Krystina Jones Yea I like the idea of the conflict myself too. And you're right, Jerry defenitely wouldn't have came to her. But...Nutin we can do about it. Lol I just suggest that Morty gives Rick a nice little 2-piece combo ass whooping every now and again, and I gotta see what happens with Evil Morty. I Have to.

Almost everyone seems to miss the fact that the writers understand very intimately the narcissist/ codependent dynamic, despite the fact that Rick repeatedly refers to his narcissism and there is literally an episode about Beth & Jerry's codependent relationship! Narcissists are often bigger-than-life, charismatic, and constantly playing themselves up while putting others down. Codependents are pleasers who are used to taking abuse and being submissive or playing a supportive role to the narcissist (somewhat akin to Stockholm Syndrome, developed early on as childhood is a time of captivity). It's a very real dynamic, look it up and learn about it because this is the relationship between Rick and Morty, and between Beth and Jerry, and you will understand that these aren't just character foils, or someone to love-to-hate, or what-not. They are illustrating a real phenomenon. I believe both narcissism and codependence stem from low self-esteem, and are learned in childhood family dynamics- they are just opposite coping mechanisms for survival. It has to do with power plays and survival within a power structure. Both have their merits, and both have their disadvantages. And we are watching the different characters struggling and evolving under these dynamics. I think it's one of the most brilliant parts of the show!

Prime Jerry is best Jerry. But tbh, Jerry is the only character in the show that doesn't fall to ricks Nihilism. He is a family man that just wants his family to like him and I hope we get to explore more of Season 6 Jerry. Cause yeah, Rick puts him down at every occasion but behind that basic guy mentality people seem to hate just a guy who wants a simple life. He is funny in his own boring lifestyle kind of way, he loves to camp, but ricks toxicity drives a wedge between him and his family and drives the family to be the extremes of themselves. It's only fair that after a while that Jerry shows the worst of himself as well.

I was kind of surprised to see so much hate for Jerry in the comments section, since I mostly see him as comic relief. A punching bag that's either not self aware enough, or desperate enough for attention and validation, that he's willing to put his ego - and life - on the line in almost every situation to prove his point. Maybe it's the sadist in me that finds hilarity in his efforts, or maybe it's gratifying to see someone whose intelligence I relate to more than Rick's speak up when I wouldn't, and feel reassured by his stupid, offensive, bigoted, and overall ignorant words. Because I'm not going to fuck up quite as bad as Jerry, and that's comforting in a way.
@greedy93103 жыл бұрын
Jerry's ideal life as being someone with a full time job, who helps people, and feels needed, is something i think so many can relate to. People don't like Jerry because they feel smarter than him despite the fact that,realistically, we're all closer to Jerry than Rick. Can he be a shitty person? Yes, but so can everyone else in the show. He refuse to think we're like Jerry cause we all want to be the "cooler" characters, the Ricks and Morty's. But we won't be. In the end, I find it likely that while Rick will enter a horrible depression, it is Jerry who will finally find happiness. I honestly want the last episode to be about this dichotomy. Give Jerry a chance to be better. I think it'd be great.

to all the people in the comments saying, "you just see yourselfs in jerry" nope. most people who watch the show wouldn't think hyper intelligent dogs will give away weapons after pissing on them, care more about a stupid coin collection then their own kids, not be able to hit a golf stroke, enjoy the "jerryboree", not realize they are in a simulation after hearing "human music" and pretty much everyone around them acting like robots. I could go on. the point is we and literally everyone on the planet has weaknesses but if you look at the nitty gritty, the things jerry does are dumber then what most people would do, and your either suppose to laugh at it or get annoyed by it. I doubt that the average viewer thinks to themselves when ever jerry does things like this "man I hate myself because this is probably how I would react", that's rickdiculous.
