it's amazing how it all comes back to me after 30+ years or so. The sounds also. I was always pretty ADHD with games but this one really grabbed my attention back then. Loved it.

Jesus, i still remember when this game was released and I went to the game store to buy a game for my cz spectrum, the guys on the store were playing this game on the Amiga 500, they talked about the great song and FX, I was green of envy!!! Thanks God I could have then after a few years saving my first Amiga 500 ;))

Wow I was just playing Spelunky on the Xbox 360 with my kid and told him about Rick Dangerous in the old day's and was able to find it here and show him. A true classic of a game and just like Spelunky fiendishly hard!!!

0:39 There are some birds near me that keep making this exact sound. Always makes me think of Rick Dangerous. Perhaps that death sound is a recording of a bird.

Hehe, the Amiga is a computer :) And when it comes to graphics and sound in old games, Amiga games are better 90% of the time. Perhaps I should do an Amiga/DOS games comparison someday :)

I realize there is already another longplay of this game up already (well it's actually a speedrun and he plays better than me) but I was going to finish the game and decided to record it.. pretty pointless but what the hell :p

A dos computer at the time at this price to play these games was alot Amiga had really good graphics and sound for the time Games where easy to play and did,nt need a harddrive like the dos ones

I wonder if in the above footage whether the person was playing with a joy stick? I had a C64 with a 2 trigger button, plane type joystick and my inputs could never be that precise...always an extra movement or jump at the wrong time 🙄😁

Help me out with something, when I had this on the Amiga it had a screen before it loaded where I could get infinite ammo etc... so it had obviously been tampered with. When I got to the last level it game me some blurb about aliens invading and then put me back on level one. I have to know, was that because whoever had faffed with it had confused it and it thought level 1 was the last level?!? Or is that how it is meant to be? lol

Wow. His opening screen sure didn't do him any favors. Not that I think a guy who parachutes into the middle of a jungle and begins shooting every local inhabitant he sees deserves many favors.

This game is amazing! Too bad, Rick's death cry and the enemy's cry are the same sound. In the second part of the game, they have different die sound. It really could have been here too.

Yup I have the PC version as well. It's horrible though compared to the Amiga version.. bad graphics and horrible sound (only supports PC speaker).
