He's 25 now but it made my heart glad to see that he had the ability to recognize good ole school music. The first album I ever bought was Street Songs. I was just starting my freshman year in HS, and even the white kids were humming his songs, his music reached all races. I remember when he tried to get his videos played on MTV and was rejected. Despite his problems, he helped Teena Marie and The Mary Jane Girls become stars. Before Michael and Prince, it was Rick James for me.
