Examples of Fates worse than death include Being trapped in a mirror, trapped as a scarecrow, Trapped in a slab of concrete, your brain exposed with a snap of a finger, Trapped in a time loop, trapped on a floating rock in space, pushed into the event horizon of a collapsing galaxy, wrapped in unbreakable chains at the heart of a dwarf star. Speaking as a big fan of both, The Doctor has better and more consistent feats. Rick has fought plenty of things on the level of The Doctor's foes, but the difference is that Rick often struggles or just loses when he gets to that level, whereas The Doctor almost always has the situation under control the whole time no matter what it is. The only real advantage Rick has is that he does actual fistfighting more often and The Doctor is unwilling to use guns of any kind, but I'm not sure that matters much here.

There have been ways to permanently kill a Time Lord. Like when the 11th Doctor was poisoned with a way to override his regeneration, or when Rasillion threatened to kill the 12th Doctor by shooting him to death "until all of his regenerations run out". The Doctor finds a way around it.

The main three advantages for the doctor here is that A: he is smarter. Rick's biggest advantage ANYWHERE, and he is outclassed here. The doctor thinks so fast that he literally sees the world in slow motion sometimes, he also knows how to create the reality bomb amongst other things (I don't think he'll actually use the reality bomb in this fight or it's an immediate stomp but it's a huge IQ feat) B: his spaceship is superior. Much more durable, much more he can do with it. Rick's has more conventional weapons (lasers and blasters and stuff) but the doctor literally has the heart of the TARDIS which, when used, could take out the phoenix in a single thought C: Rick's emotional issues. I saw someone point out that the doctor will likely manipulate Rick into taking his own life at the end of the fight and I strongly believe he has the potential to. The doctor once manipulated someone into genocide

Rick has experience with time travel (even though the writers only ever used it once or twice to avoid confusing plot problems). He should be able to keep up in that field. Not to mention that even if The Doctor is immortal, Rick has plenty of ways to end the fight. I know the show is called “Death” Battle, but hey, this is Rick Sanchez. He’s cool with taking shortcuts and cutting corners. If he can’t kill The Doctor, he’ll probably settle for turning him into a pickle or something.

Problem isn't just that The Dr is Immortal, it's that he has mastery over time and space, is considerably more intelligent then Rick, who has been beaten even in his own verse by people smarter then him. This will be a fascinating battle I've seen both shows and I can tell you this is going to be one of those instances we're both the players in the fight are going to be playing some kind of game of 5D chess against each other constantly trying to outdo the other. That'll be Rick's advantage. The Space Cruiser is equipped for a dog fight. Even though there have been TARDIS'es that have been equipped with weapons. The Doctor's TARDIS doesn't have any weapons. In fact, it had problems racing with an average car on the streets.

With how much they can do, makes sense to bring those up to later point out how the doctor has already been in these scenarios and stomped. Though honestly, they didn't have much choice. If they're including the 60 years of comics, dramas, books, etc, there aren't many feats you can give Rick that the Doctor hasn't specifically done before. Not many options, there's just so many thousands upon thousands of adventures the doctor's been on. And the few adventures The Doctor hasn't done weren't really from a lack of capability, more a lack of desire. But you get him mad enough, genocide and destruction on any scale are readily possible, even if he has to kill himself and come back as someone willing to get the job done.

I think on paper the doctor might have the edge. but Rick has plans in case of his demise. -a gun (shown) to create a clone of him on the spot -he has had cloning chambers where his subconscious is put in them in case of death (though he did destroy those but has shown it can be transferred in another universe's rick's clone lab) -under certain circumstances can mindswap (he did it in season 3 premiere (maybe 4th season) -has shown to heal (newest episode had his innards spewing out. he just stuffed them back in and his body healed Not saying he is immortal but he has several ways to not die.

Rick's advantage stands in his personality and his ingenuity. But the doctor holds the advantage in experience, biology and technology, especially with tools such as the Sonic screwdriver. We also need to remember that Rick doesn't usually resort to time travel while the doctor literally lives in the time vortex. All things considered, I'm convinced that this battle can really go either way, especially if we take into account regeneration

A few more advantages Rick has over the Doctor is his obscene pain tolerance, his ability to recover from wounds that would force the Doctor to regenerate, his ability to repair damage to himself on the fly, and the massive advantage his Cybernetics give him in terms of strength and speed. Might not be enough with that Sonic Screwdriver potentially messing with Ricks tech but it's certainly worth mentioning.

The Doctor could win with just two uses of the Sonic screwdriver. First one to just scan Rick. Second one to disable all of his cybernetics. Immediately, that totally cripples Rick - both arms and legs immediately become useless, he's blinded in his left eye, and that's a generous estimate. It's entirely possible that his organs would all just shut down, too.

Do you know of something called Minecraft Manhunt? The fight will probably look a lot like that because if we assume both combatants have standard equipment, Rick has guns, space car, etc. The Doctor has the tardis, sonic screwdriver, and psychic paper... not really packin much heat ya know? But the Tardis can tank essentially anything Rick can throw at it while the shields are up as well as protect against any time shenanigans Rick might try. The Doctor would do what he's known for: Run! While running he will visit his past and future throughout time and space trying to get something that will stop Rick. If Rick wants to deny the Doctor a chance to prepare/find something that will tilt the scales, he'd have to chase him across time and space, possibly the multiverse too. But Rick would have to grab better time travel stuff real quick but because of the nature of time travel chases, thus the Doctor would have a head start. If other comments haven't made it clear, the Doctor with prep time wins so the fight is really him running away trying to prepare mid-fight while Rick tries to stop him.

Considering what the Doctor has done, I'd say sonic scrambling of your molecules is something Rick would rather deal with than whatever it is the Doctor has done to several beings. Considering that Running away, wiping his own memory and living a new boringish life was his definition of "kind" towards a family of life draining aliens that were mercilessly hunting him down, I'd say that if Rick had ever been called a demon before, he'd be wise to run when a good man goes to war. Plus, some incarnations of the Doctor were more adapted to combat than others, so if they bring in his various regenerations, the like of the 3rd and War Doctors probably would be so hesitant to deliver a killing blow. And that's not even mentioning whatever kind of people the doctor would be collecting debts from.

Time lords can travel to different dimensions too although it is not explored much. The doctor has defeated 4 th dimensional beings capable of devouring infinite number of multiverses. The 8th doctor in comics took in the power of the Tardis and rewrote the entire history of the universe. He might have killed the devil. With the changes and retcon brought by the timeless child he no longer dies since he is the source of regeneration not just some time lord who copied an inferior version. The Tardis can project a sheild on the doctor that Rick shouldnt be able to get through.
