I will remember her all the same reasons everyone else does. But the thing I respect most of all is no matter how ill she was she thought of others who shared the battle and created a cancer hospital. Her long battle with disease with such courage and grace. A truly brave and incredible soul.

Since hearing of her passing, it's been a terribly sad week for me... and I didn't even know her. I can't imagine what her friends and family are going through. Although I never got a chance to meet her, I was a huge fan of hers. I was there when she received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. I was there to see her in concert, for her Physical Tour in the early '80s. (Twice!) My personalized CA license for many years was "ONJ 4EVR." I have no less than 13 of her albums. (Vinyl) 14 if I include the Grease soundtrack and a few more if you include a few CDs. For three or four months each year, her Xanadu movie poster hangs above my fireplace. (I rotate it out with a few other movie posters I own.) I was, however, very fortunate to meet and chat with her lovely sister Rona! From '83-'84 I was the manager of a small movie theater on Hollywood Blvd. Back then there were a half dozen or more theaters on the Blvd (most of which are closed now) and my theater was one of the smallest. And yet, who should show up to see a movie one night but Rona and Jeff Conaway! Taxi was a big hit back then and all of my female employees were chatting with Jeff, and getting his autograph. Well, I could not have cared less about Jeff. I had been a fan of Olivia's for years, and so meeting and chatting with her lovely sister was the next best thing. While the rest of my staff was visiting with her husband, I had a few minutes to chat with Rona. A friend of mine lives just a few miles from her ranch home in the Santa Ynez Valley. I feel like driving by just to see it... but I also want to respect the privacy of John and Chloe and the rest of her family, and so for that reason I will stay away. Gonna miss you, Livvy.

What a gentleman.Rick has always been SO open in sharing his feelings. You can clearly see he's emotionally upset, but intent just to reaffirm that Olivia was an extraordinarily beautiful soul. The world lost a special, special, (still young!) person on August 8, 2022. And regarding these adjectives we have for Olivia, I think Springfield can say much the same about himself. A truly thankful man. Known for offering words of support to people who are ill, facing depression & if the situation allowed, he would openly share a bit of his own "journey" & give encouragement to someone that might ask him at this little patch of Dog Park out here. To be a public person & often step out of his own comfort zone & share some of his personal life experiences JUST to help 2 or 3 pple. It was impressive to me. I used to see Rick S. @7A'M '"ish in Malibu. We'd all be getting our AM coffee.. H'd be walking/potty training his family's puppy, (a handsome, English bulldog). MR.Spf'd 😊 ALWAYS had a smile for you & nodded "a sincere hello back at you, ....esp.if you had a "hey ,how are you" for him But he keeps a low profile ....Funny, I'm straight, my one friend is also straight & my other "AM drive" buddy is gay, (& HE really can be pretty campy). Rick is STILL very "hot". Then & now! He cld balance out cheeky remarks md towards him, & just & chuckle.& say something funny. VERY impressive, as he is this straight Rock Star guy, not at all discerningly different with gay or straight people.Everyone was clearly "just a person". He was so comfortable in his own skin.THIS was refreshing to see, cuz men 10 yra. younger than him, were still uncomfortable being around gay dudes. So, thank you, and thank you to Rick Springfield... I wish I him great health & happiness, & success. ) He'd do well writing with Beth Neilsen Chapman. AND I hope Olivia is feeling all of the love that the world has for her 💜

Getting a bit older myself, a lot of my childhood heroes and heroines are passing so almost every week there's a RIP and I say to myself that it's sad but let's move on. But Olivia's passing is somehow more of a deepfelt sadness, maybe because she was too young to go and cancer is a beast, and... she took it so calmly, at least in front of the camera, but always with such grace. Never once have I or anyone probably ever seen any dark side in her, as she always carried herself so beautifully. I just keep thinking, "If there's anyone who didn't deserve to die too soon at 73, it's ONJ".

Australia is such a ridiculously desperate country. They made such little contribution to the world, and when an English woman that only spent a few years in Australia MAKES IT (like most English entertainers do), they have to claim them as their own.
