I’ve known Rick since I was 14 or so, in high school played in a band with his son. Rick is the most genuine, kind, selfless person and couldn’t have been more cool to me and the band. Our second show was at the whiskey, and he basically took the job of our roadie. Changing all our strings out, tuning everything up I think he even did a minor set up my guitar for me. Also insanely supportive, gave up the room which Is now his home studio etc to his children and their bands to have a proper practice space. Then I saw him at his sons play when I changed high schools at 17 or so, and he instantly ran up and started talking about my music and songwriting etc. The vast amount of styles and bands he’s into may shock a lot of people, he’s a true musician and fan that loves all things music. Also went to a few of his shows, and one in Vegas he took more time than he had to hang out privately with me and friends to do a little mini jam with his high end line 6 (early days of line 6 and for practice backstage amp it has all the effects etc it wasn’t his stage amp) he would keep backstage. Haven’t seen him since the end of high school so I guess I “knew” him is more appropriate. Honestly can’t say enough great things about this guy. -name is Kyle by the way Leland is just my KZbin handle

I am astonished at the realization that my 1st concert was 40 yrs ago!!! WTF??? Whom am I even lolol Ricks concert showed me at 14, there is an insane energy. And being live at one, is total & utter joy. We force so much at him in gratitude & adoration, & respect, he has plenty to use & push back at us. THANK YOU SIR, for being exactly who you are. Every single bit of you. Your concert, looking back, changed the trajectory of my young life. Now at 54, with 75-100 or so concerts & other large live events under my belt, I am so blessed to have learned ( unknown to me at time of course) that lesson so young. I had the privilege of meeting you when I was at Finger Lakes Racetrack & Casino back in 2012. You had mentioned that you like Fiesta Red Fender guitars. I saw Rick in 1984 in Houston, Texas. I remember my sister had my mom's credit card to buy the tickets and she gets to the Ticketmaster outlet and they tell her they still have 2 tickets in the 6th row, Floor, Center. But they were 200$. My mom thought we were spending 20$ for each tickets. My sister waits till we show up and leads me, at 15 years old and head over heals for Rick, to the 6th row, front and center. I was blown away. We were so close we could touch him and the pictures were freaking fantastic. But on the way home I saw a hole in our plan, my sister was going to pay the credit card so mom would never know, right? But on the way home I asked "What about the pictures? If mom looks at them she'll know how close we were". All the blood drained from my sister's face but she said she'd take care of it. She gave me the most fantastic night with Rick sounding and looking amazing. I've been to a lot of concerts in my life, I saw Van Halen and met the band, Rush and so many more, but Rick's concert always reigned above the rest. P.S. My mom already knew, the credit card company had called her that day. lol She knew my sister had done it for me, so no one was banished or grounded forever. The best night ever.

@Rick Springfield Music Hello, is this really Rick? Nice to meet you. I have been a fan for such a long time. I saw you in 1983 in Houston, TX with Corey Hart. My sister went all out and bought 6th row floor, center tickets and your concert was amazing! The pictures I took could've been in a magazine, they were so close. I've been to hundreds of concerts since, I saw Rush, Van Halen, so many more and no concert outshined yours. I wanted to see you when you played at Graceland recently, but wasn't able to make it. I live in southern Virginia. How did the concert go? Was it amazing playing there? Thank you for sharing your music with me.

Wow, hard to believe it's been 40 years. I remember when this song came out, got a lot of airplay on the radio. Great tune from the greatest decade ever, the 1980's. Never be another time period that will top that one, some of the best times of my life.
