Camping in the low rent area of a great campground. Tompkins COE Camp on Cowanesque Lake in N. PA

A tad bit cheaper, but a bit more crowded. I could not get one of my "Preferred" sites, they were all reserved. Maybe I shouldn't post my favorite sites!! But a great time was had. Watching the kids zoom around the camp road and via for greatness with their friends. It was a nice way to spend the Memorial Day Weekend! Check out the Links Below!

Nice. We've haven't camped at Tompkins, but were at Ives Run on another part of the lake about this time last year (in the FH section) and it was hot then, too. Like you, we "Geezers on the Go," seldom camp on holidays. Too many people. But enjoy your stuff.

Ya, this was an "Emergency Situation", we were forced to camp on the holiday weekend. Though actually I had to leave early Sunday to get to my next reservation... next weeks video..

My cabin is only 30 minutes from Cowanesque Lake. I have had great luck fishing on the lake.

I was told it was a super lake for fishing by the rangers. And for Memorial Day it really wasn't very crowded!

Do u get much trailer sway with that camper?

Some, but it seems like its road dependent. Some of the heavy used Interstates have low spots where the tractor-Trailers run. I doubt its any better or worse than any other trailer, but it is noticable. I did have a collision with a Tractor Trailer going up I-77 to get here. That will be on a future video when I get the damage fixed. It just damaged the awning.

Hey, Rick! That's a shame about your awning, because that's gonna cost a small fortune to replace the entire roller assembly AND the fabric. Too bad you didn't capture it (somehow) on video, so you could get the trucking company to pay for the damages. Not 100% certain, but the name "Cowanesque" is probably named after someone named COWAN. It's probably pronounced COWAN-esk. Take care!

If I can get my son to help me install the new Roller/awning set up, should be just under $500. And I think its an Indian word, but I bet someone named Cowan is probably telling his friends its his lake....lol

The dog should not have been in trouble for no leash - YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN. LEASH LAW IN A CAMP GROUND SHOULD NOT BE A SUPPRISE.
