Amazes me how people who are clearly Ricky Gervais fans can't see how Merchant is being ironic about the homeless.

It's not fake, one is from the radio show and the other is from the podcast. I guess like so many stories told amongst friends, the details change over the years.

Something i've noticed by listening to these.. is that it's obvious the writers of The Inbetweeners must have been big fans.

They're friends of Ricky and Steve's.

When Karl says the guys good looking they go 'ooooooh' just like 'friend' in the inbetweeners
@DerringerHK9 жыл бұрын
ItsMyLife154 Ricky and Steve didn't invent that, though.

Finchy from The Office uses the phrase "clunge" often, and he also says "up to my nuts in guts". Jay is effectively a younger version of him.

No, Im not, I live in Adelaide Australia about 50 metres from the beach and take home $1500 a week. But Ive been close to it a few times. It dosnt take much. And I respect and love my fellow man, regardless of there living situation.

It's actually just Ricky trying to tease Karl by saying the question is so easy.
@Rossboe111 жыл бұрын
Ricky and Karl grew up working class mate. Ricky's old man was a bricky's labourer, not even a qualified bricklayer. That is as working class as you can get. In england its different to america. Middle class are proffesionals, doctors, lawyers, accountants.

I wouldn't worry about it - the homeless probably still pull more minge then Steve does, even with his celebrity status.

It could be just failing memory of childhood events decades earlier, or the guy got a new job.

They do that all the time. They tell the same stories with parts different all the time

So Ricky started Karl's career and Karl started Alex Zane's career

Ricky talking about "Jim The Hat" later in the animated "ricky gervais show" Karl comes right out saying he never worse a hat and Ricky says its stupid and laughs, I'm starting to agree with the people who think its scripted, at least RGS is if this isn't, like they took stuff from this and used it to write RGS
@forgeddocs8 жыл бұрын
+Turbo Albatross duh thats exactly what they did. in RGS you can hear the cuts , at times, for when they cut off sentences to fir them into the 20 minutes of show.
@jshep738 жыл бұрын
You moron
@GRE2388 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure RGS was taken from the pod casts they did together. They always repeat themselves on the xfm shows though.

@thomlennon38798 жыл бұрын
I think he meant the later Christmas Specials, which were mediocre at best.

Is the animated show fake or something? Because when Karl talks about Jon the Screw and ricky says "He either works in a prison or he likes to have sex." Karl says "He's a Cabby" But in the animated show he says "He works in a D.I.Y shop." What the hell?

have you ever heard of anyone changing jobs over a 10 year period
@pizzaboy12509 жыл бұрын
Steve does have a point here about the homeless (as insensitive as he is). Its estimated that 30% of homeless people here in the US have schizophrenia. I assume that the UK is quite similar.

I hate Steve's attitude to people with less money and who are much less fortunate than him, it just seems whenever he talks about the homeless he's very smug and pompous about it
@sisifromthefuture11 жыл бұрын
It's a different opinion. Calm down.
@S_B_R_O11 жыл бұрын
Pointless debate, it's a comedy radio show. Grow up.

Man, this is kinda bad. I like the animation podcast but this is just... ugh. I've been listening to a few of these now hoping the next one will be better but it just gets worse. They rely too much on Karl to run the show. I appreciate he's like the only one who actually tries but he can't tell the difference between what's entertaining and what's not. A little organization and preparation for the show from Ricky and Steve wouldn't hurt.

to be fair to them they dont rate themselves either, they take digs at themselves all the time, this is the raw material, personally better

The very things you complain about is what made this the most popular podcast going. I love these, but one man's meat is another man's poison!

Yeah, I've come to appreciate this show a bit now that I've seen more episodes.
