Even his New World Order used to be funny back before it essentially became The View (But With Swearing). Considering he made his name as a counter-cultural icon of offense and provocation I can't believe his hypocrisy over the last few years, toeing the safe little BBC line like he was Michael fucking McIntyre or something... At least Ricky is one of the few who refuses to compromise his approach to comedy for the sake of ratings. When my husband and I were stationed in Japan in 1990 a very old Japanese man came up to him and thanks him profusely for dropping the bomb. My husband looked very confused and asked why would you thank me for something so horrible. The old man said that he had already lost two son's in the war and by dropping the bomb and ending the war, we saved his last son's life. Talk about an odd twist of reality. This man was grateful for some so awful.
