August 1999, our oldest son who wasn't due until October, came into this world via emergency c-section. I was awake, numbed from the waste down with a sheet to divide me from the doctors and nurses working frantically to save him. I began to get nauseous at the thought of knowing I was being cut open, so my husband asked if they could turn on a radio for me. This song was playing on the radio. Then came our 4lb. baby bird, who fit so perfectly in his daddy's palm. Fast forward nearly 21 years. He graduated high school, went to directly into the US Navy, and has seen more of this beautiful world than I could hope for. ❤

She pulls up next to me, our eyes meet, she smiles, we both jump out of our cars like two kids who knew each other forever and we laughed. It’s now 20 years later, we have a son and two steps and she's lying beside me as I write this reply.

This song is soooo beautiful, I swear I FEEL it instead of hearing it. The Spanish version for me is just heavenly... Ricky has a few songs that make me feel like that now that I think about it... 'Perdido Sin Ti' and 'Bella' being some of them... Make me want to feel that type of love again...
