ATTENTION! Galvanic corrosion! You are right about corrosion between different Metals, in this example of aluminium and titanium. But it is even more so between copper and aluminium! These two metals will corrode! They are very far apart on the galvanic scale and dissimilar metals. So I would highly recommend using a ceramic based anti seize and removing the copper based anti seize from your bottom bracket! Copper based anti seize is only used for steel on steel. On aluminium, NEVER use copper based anti seize because it WILL corrode! Yes, the bottom bracket is anodized (which protects the aluminium itself) but in the long term you will not be able to remove the bottom bracket anymore, and in the worst case this will also damage your frame. Ceramic based anti seize is not electrically conductive, wich will prevent the galvanic corrosion. I hope this helps

I’ve used (and still do) copper paste on Ti bolts into aluminum parts many time before and not had any problems so just went with that. I was told to use anti-seize (they recently had to cut out a BB from one of their customer frames that was installed without it) and with zero knowledge in material science I just used what I had laying around with the label anti-seize hehe. More knowledge added to the databank, cheers!!

I did the brushed finish on my Ti bike and it's like owning a stainless steel appliance - anytime someone touches the frame, you see the fingerprints. Took about a 9 months for the wallet to heal. The bike rides great, but perhaps I'm biased. Glad I did it.

Great build. I just got my fully custom Ti frameset as well. It was media blasted in a similar fashion as the Slayer of Grams. My builder used a light lube like T9 to clean up the frame. Just a little spray on a terry cloth to wipe it down then chase with a dry cloth. The blasted areas of the frame absorb the lube and it simply pops, plus the bike smells amazing when it's all wiped down. Give it a try on your frame, it may not work well with the anodized sections and polished sections, but thought I'd share. Keep up making these great videos and building up top class bikes.

Beautiful bike. So much attention to detail. After seeing your video, I went and weighted my Ti bike, which is a custom frame, with mechanical Campy Super Record 11 from 2009 with rim brakes, Shamal wheels and off the shelf components, , and it comes out at 16lbs. Not bad for an old bike and makes me think I made some good choices way back then :) Only thing I have to try is wider tires to see if they fit - it"s still riding on 23mm :')

Deda are really doing their bit to make carbon steerers stronger with their 70mm steerer plug and this new composite split ring. Id put some 3M helicopter tape around your steerer though so the hydro cables dont rub away your steerer longterm or cause ghost bleeds aka brake fail from the cables leaking oil from rubbing together too much.

As a fellow titanium road bike user and a somewhat moderate weight weenie, chapeau for this build. This bike scratches me right where I itch. It's an amazing build, and the attention to detail is sublime. Given that I'm going to very likely be the last man standing in the rim brake defence force, as well as in that of the mechanical groupset, the fact that I'd actually want this bike says a lot. Amazing job.

I bet shorter trail results in new descent KOMs. It's basic bike geometry theory. I'm in the process of building a custom Ti frame and went with more conservative 60mm trail and fat 35mm tires for long days in the saddle. On the frame finish, I noticed that Prova goes with paint up front and polished (!) rear end with brushed bits. I have another bike with blasted finish (I think it's old style sand blast) and it's quite a pain to wash. Anyways, big thumbs up for the bike and welcome to the Ti guild!

Very nice build and video! Keep up the good work! Although from a technical perspective, I never understood the logic behind copper paste on aluminium. The only thing preventing corrosion there is the grease part in the copper grease (no electrolyte -> no corrosion). But aluminium and copper are basically still a battery. Copper paste was designed for high temperature steel on steel applications where the organic grease part cooked out. Although nowadays, with ceramic and non metallic compounds available, I wouldn't use copper grease for anything. It is such a dirty mess

Custom > Stock But some stock frames are definitely better than others regardless of material! When each tube is prescribed from the builder specifically for you.....wonderful things happen! I just got done building up a Rodeo Labs Flaanimal 5.0 that has a carbon seat tube. Its of course not a "slayer of grams" bike as its gravel and bikepacking, but it has a much better ride feel than say a Surly or even a Kona. However, I also own a '16 Trek Boone, and I have to say they did something magical with that frame. The IsoSpeed and curved fork are just sublime. Beautiful bike, enjoy!

I just got that same fork in the 45 offset to hit the trail figures I wanted. Just looking at the way it's built, it's a high-quality fork. It handles great on my bike and clears my 30mm tires with gobs of room. I think it could probably clear 35's. Bigger tires will definitely affect the trail / handling though.

beautiful bike T. As custom Ti frame or three owner I was not that enamored by the stem. Looked like the front end of a Volvo 240 married to a Porsche 959 body (Swedish influence?) The Vamoots CRD has a sleeker looking ENVE set up presuming your headtube is 44mm and that crow tells you where that fabled Yumidate gold is buried. Nothing gets cheaper as we go lighter. Looking forward to more riding videos and drone footage. Ride safe! cheers.

Lovely build 😍 Anything that has a blasted/pitted finish will be a magnet for dirt and marks. The surface needs to be treated/coated. If I had to be critical the stem doesn't look right. I think a more rounded/tube type stem would be nicer, the current one looks to bulbous/square against such a lovely classic looking frame.

Nice. After riding both, Ti and Carbon frames, I personally prefer Carbon Fiber for the way it rides and the way it looks but to each its own. Nice build as always!

Great video and your presentation style is awesome with a nice sense of humor. I'm looking for a new Ti road frame. I have mixed feelings about hybrid Ti/carbon though. I guess we all use carbon forks and seat posts, but I just worry that a full carbon seat tube, may not feel like a "timeless" choice years from now. Like similar Ti/carbon hybrids from the 90's with carbon seat stays, which people are not as interested in buying on the used market as full Ti bikes, IMHO.
