Only thing that would have made it perfect would have been listing the sizes of sockets used on front sprocket and rear axle locking nut. Damn good video, just what I was looking for. Thanks for posting!
@RideWNC10 жыл бұрын
Sometimes bikes may have different sized nuts and bolts. I don't usually give tool sizes or torque specs. It is good practice for riders who are learning to wrench on their machines to look at a bolt and know what the size is at a glance.

criticalw88 Why? the Haynes manual I used to do mine doesn't state it has a right or wrong way to insert it. Only to lightly lube rod before inserting it back in.

When I took the cover off there was a aluminum washer with a oval 1/2 shaft attached to it just laying in that area & I wasn't sure where it came from. Since it fit over the rod & into the groove under the cover I figured it went there but I'll break it down & take that out tonight when I get off work.

Great instructions my friend. Can you make a video of a 2005 cbr1000rr with only 3000 original miles, what would you upgrade, leave the same??
@RideWNC4 жыл бұрын
Bring me the bike and parts and I will do the video. I do almost every bike the same. I install everything I like. Knowing the color helps. If it is a black or black/gray, I would go with color which would stand out just a little to the guy who knows bikes. Gold Shorty levers, Red Galfer braided lines, EBC HH pads front and rear. If the chain has started to rust, I would do Gold Chain, black steel Vortex rear sprocket. ProGrip Superbike grips with heat pads on the bars. Heated grips is the best mod every street bike needs. Sometimes it is 60* out and the summer gloves are just not keeping your hands warm. Orange or red 90* valve stems. Bridgestone S22 front -190/55-17 on the rear to make that bike corner better. Possibly a Corbin seat to make those long rides more comfortable. I don't like cutting off the tail section to clean up the rear. That ruins the bikes ability to keep water off of you on wet roads. I do like replacing lightbulbs with LED. LED turn signals and flasher relay. That gives you the extra power to run the heated grips and heated gear. And no bike should be on the road without a radar detector.
@stefanwong52978 жыл бұрын
nice video.helped a lot.just noticed you put a 190/55/zr17 instead of 190/50/zr17.doesn't that effect the handling of the bike or just for looks.thanx

I did this last night...thanks to this video...but when I got ready to take my bike out the clutch lever on the handle bars was too tight. I tried shift but luckily the kick stand was down, so it died but then it wouldn't let me shift into neutral. In this video his elbow was in the way but is there a silver piece that goes inside the slave cylinder housing? Or did I improperly mount the linkage?

Gordon Jackson There is only the counter shaft cover, the Slave and the clutch push rod along with the bolts holding the slave and cover on.

@roadrash83348 жыл бұрын
+MikeE RideWNC I pulled the clutch lever a bunch of times and it built up the pressure in my hydraulic clutch to make it work again. same thing as your back brake when you take your tire off you gotta push that brake a bunch of time befor it works properly again. I pulled the clutch probably 50 times then tried to ride it and it has been perfect ever since

What axle grease do you use?
@RideWNC6 жыл бұрын
I use Lubrimatic Marine Grease. Remember, you are not lubricating the axle. You are protecting it and making easier to remove next time. Nothing should be spinning on the axle, if there are wear marks on an axle, you should be inspecting the wheel bearings and considering replacing them.
