Female here. Hiked and camped alone all my life throughout the United States. Went to Olympic National Park. Became creeped out and unnerved on a trail. Saw nothing but knew I wasn't alone. Backed down the trail with a switch blade in one hand, pepper spray in the other. What I remember the most is the complete silence of the forest except for my breathing. Never went back.

Somebody was watching you with the intent to harm you. I had a similar experience but in NYC of all places. Around 9pm I was walking down a empty residential street to the grocery store and suddenly my brain went on high alert. The first thing I noticed was how oddly quiet it was. I've never heard that kind of quiet before. And I couldn't shake the feeling that someone was watching me. Didn't see a soul but my body was completely in flight mode. Damn near ran until I got to a busy street a couple of blocks later.

@@0nionBruh. I honestly think it is supernatural. One time a lone hiker, he walked out in front of me and found my trail, he said he’s been lost for hours and didn’t know how he ever even went off trail when he was following the dirt trail path, he said before he got lost he felt dizzy and he just remembers he felt like someone was watching him and and he blacked out. Woke up in the middle of the forrest and scared for his life. Got that right, I left back down with him bc I felt as if someone was watching me the entire time. He was elderly and I wanted to make sure he was ok too, he reported it to park rangers but of course they couldn’t do much, not like a report matters there anyways, they’ll eventually hide it. I also believe in tree spirits. I swear I’ve seen trees move a bit as if it’s alive, brings shivers down my spine just thinking about it. I hear one little noise and I stop completely still, these trees I would hear moving like a bit to the side, I know they move cause birds will fly out of it after the noise or it goes completely quiet. Heck I’ve even spoken about it to local native tribes in my town and they said I’ve just seen a tree spirit, some are evil but some are just curious.

I went to oakhurst area near Yosemite recently for a small quick hike, this lady with her dog was in front of me and she said if she can hike close to me cause she felt something was off, I told her to go in front of me and I’ll be in back of her a few feet away. Sure enough a mountain lion was stalking her and her dog, she got so scared we got out of there and warned others who were behind that we passed. They all left with us, we made sure to make plenty of noise. We reported it to the rangers so they came out and stationed around that area to make sure other hikers either got out of there safely or isn’t going in without a large group. And this is not a new phenomena either. I was an avid backpacker and camper 40 years ago, and we heard the stories back then about people going missing in national Parks on a regular basis. At the time a lot of those disappearances were attributed to growing operations that the campers stumbled upon. Others I suppose could be from predators or dying of natural causes way off any trails. It's an unusual number of missing persons. I don t know if clusters are significant because all these places are apparently popular and attract hikers, etc. The fact that there's no trace is baffling though.

In order for a case to be included in the Missing 411 clusters, any possibility of animal predation must be excluded. There is so much more to it than this. Even if every missing person was due to being eaten up by vultures and then bones hauled off by coyotes, what’s killing them in the first place? The point is that people are vanishing into thin air, their companions look away for 5 seconds and then they’re gone. A bear could not manage to do this without being noticed or leaving a bloody scene.

Yes, old man approaching your car when you're alone can be quite unnerving but when you talked with him and he turned out to not have any immediate bad intentions, then you shouldn't have been "shaking for 5 mins" nor should you be shaking from the prospect of going caving/spelunking, which can be a very dangerous and scary activity true, esp if you're inexperienced but it seems like you had a a group of guys with you so tbh... it kinda just sounds like you chickened out basically... in both situations lol and that there wasn't anything actually wrong.

Whether this is animals taking people for fun or UFO aductions or better training for all search and rescues, this video is all about shedding light on the subject matter. I'm a local professional tracker that works only at the sheriff's requiest, and I am hired at least once a year to find people in the Pisgah National Forest. I will often find a trail of the suspected missing person, follow it out 5-20 miles and lose track of them again and rarely pick it back up. Sometimes it's like they go straight up rock faces despite not having appropriate gear, unconditioned, or a small child. Around 20% of these cases are just off or wrong for one reason or another. Then the park service likes to deflate the number of disappearances by never recording 1,000's that are lost and found every year. Many claim to have no memory of the event. I really believed it was medical until couple of years and now I am not so certain.

It's all not necessarily man made tunnels..In Kentucky we have the biggest underground cave system in the United Stayed.."Mammoth Cave" a national park in Western KY, considered the mouth of the cavern system..In the late 50s early 60s a whole town disappeared and is believed to have entered the caves and never exited..Edmonson KY..it all could be tabloid fodder but through my investigations there is a grain of truth to the mythology..The Big South Fork in South Eastern KY, Hopkinsville, Hellier..all part of the same caverns and something very weird has happened in theses places..and the "real news" outlets refuse to report it.

Likely because it is so remote. In British Columbia there is a highway called the Highway of Tears. Women hitchhikers (most Indigenous) have been disappearing for years on it. If you google the highway and see how remote parts of it are, it is not shocking at all that people disappear without a trace. A predators dream for sure.

Guys, gals. If you have a sickening feeling or any semblance of a feeling that you're being watched, then you're definitely being watched. It happened to me, and I can confirm it. When a peeping tom was staring at me from outside my window at night, I had the same sickening feeling. And I didn't even know I was being watched until my mother stormed outside and chased him out, then came to tell me about it while I was checking the window, not even fully knowing what happened yet. My mother caught him standing right in the spot where I felt the deafening disgusting stare was coming from, and it was pure intuition from both of us and from God for sure, because my mom also had no way of knowing that someone was out there watching me but she had a gut-feeling. The window was also pitch black so I couldn't see anyone outside, but I felt it like a hot rod on my back. Not even fear but pure disgust. Always listen to your cautionary gut.

Me and my fiancé had a scary moment in the Corbett wma here in Florida, We camp the area frequently and I still even hunt the area but one night we set up camp at a fairly new spot to us near some water and surrounded by woods way in the back and all was just as any other night just me , her and our dog he’s a ( Chi-weenie) .. We always keep a small fire burning all night just as a way to keep some light around the camp for comfort. Around 12 or we finally made our way into the tent and not long after sleeping, around 2 or three in the morning My eyes jolt open like I was suddenly awaken by something inside me. I immediately heard heavy heavy breathing coming from the other side of my pickup truck . I barely pick my head up and see my dog looking at me shaking… ( not even barking) I pulled him close and sushed him by saying I know softly in his ear. I than whispered to my fiancé if she she was awake and she replied immediately ( yes) whispering under her breath . Just as I slid my shotgun into my grip I heard the same type of breathing coming closer to where the first thing was standing. So I knew there was two of w.e was big enough to breathe so deep that I can’t even mimic the sounds of the upper respiratory sound that I can still hear from that night. I whispered just be quiet to both my fiancé and my dog and all three of us just laid there for what seemed like 20 mins until I heard one run towards the road through the woods exceptionally fast.. The other remained there still just breathing and making little noises when the bushes would move . Still we did not get up or try to be brave. We knew it wasn’t human or anything I hunt. I figured with the way Sasquatchs they throw rocks I would be out numbered in the dark with who knows how many are really around. My plan was if something touched the tent I would just pull the trigger at that spot and figure out the charges later. But nothing did & After a while of laying there The noise just faded away & before I knew it was gone. We came out the tent right at day break to find a new path through the brush where the noises had definitely come from. It wasn’t hogs and it wasn’t deers… dam sure wasn’t human . I still hunt the area and still camp there but as a guy with experience in camping never go unarmed!!!!!!! And never play your hand early … The element of surprise may be all you have on your side. My instincts told me stay put until provoked and I am not ashamed to say I listened.

Luckily they were usually back by the time it got dark. I can not imagine doing something like that today. A little kid in the woods alone is a recipe for all sorts of bad things. I still love being in the woods with or without company, but I have been hiking and hunting the woods over here all my life and never ever go without telling someone general area Ill be & time I expect to return, and my firearm, compass, water & emergency kit.

I was visiting my friend in rural Maine. I went for a run along the gravel road along the lake. I got this weird feeling. I stopped, took my ear buds out, listened. Silent. Started jogging again sans ear buds. I could hear leaves crunching in time with my feet. Stopped. Silent. Did this two more times and the last time, the crunching was closer but I couldn’t see ANYTHING. By now, my fight or flight kicked in and I SPRINTED the mile back to the house. I could have set a personal record. Never jogged with ear buds ever again unless I’m in the gym and don’t go out into the wild by myself anymore either.

I volunteered to be in a search party for a missing boy who wondered off at a campsite. At the meeting beforehand I noticed this guy in old army boots and jeans. Later I would talk to him and find out he was former Army Special Forces. Anyways as we were leaving to start the search he turns to us few who were going to follow him in a group and says “you won’t be able to keep up with me, and I’ll be faster on my own”. Then he turned back and walked off into the woods. About a day and half into his hike he found a footprint and tracked the boy down. He came out 2 days later carrying the kid the whole way.

I was born in Oregon. Lived there til almost 10. There is a vivid recollection of mine where at about age 7 or so and on a hike in the woods during day camp when I became hopelessly lost. Not just confused but to the point where I couldn't even hear another child or adult's voice. You might consider here for a minute that my memory of Oregon and my years living there has remained sparkling clear to this day. I've been told from others that my memory is exceptional for that early period of my life. Well to this day I sm still dumbfounded on how I found my way out of the woods. There weren't any trails. I do recall coming across another child and she was lost too. The girl was perhaps my age or a little older. I say older because she was close to my height and few girls my age were ever my height. Suddenly the girl and I were on a familiar path. And within minutes the sounds of happy kids playing together returned. Perhaps there is a logical explanation for this happenstance. However at the time it felt like a bloody miracle.

I am a survivor of being lost in the wilderness as a child. I was lost for 53 hours in 1980 (2 y/o) we were in Banff National Forest. They pronounced me dead, but a couple from Richland, WA found me stuck on a branch halfway into the river. The wilderness chooses who is found and who isn't.

What did you do for 53 hours while lost?
@jennifermcdonald54325 жыл бұрын
I am amazed at how many people trivialise this issue! I can’t imagine how painful and frustrating it would be to lose someone you loved in this way, and then to have people making fun of it would drive me crazy! How incredibly cruel. The families and friends of these people will never stop grieving and wondering, never draw another peaceful breath! If you’re too stupid to read the books, shut the hell up! You don’t know what you’re talking about!

jennifer McDonald wow!! I have been looking for someone who was thinking the same as I am.. well said hun.. these people who make a joke out of these things happening or saying silly things like ‘ people should be watching their children at all times” obviously don’t know what it’s like to be a parent.. our eyes can’t be everywhere can they, especially if we have more than one.. it’s not easy to concentrate on one child and unfair to the others either.. it’s hard, but we all do our very best to keep them safe but for a child to be in your sight one second then u look away and turn back again and that child is completely ‘gone’ just don’t make sense.. but it does happen.. no footprints, signs of a struggle or sound, and to be stood only a couple of steps away.. omg, it just don’t make sense but it’s happening all the time. it’s as if they have either instantly disappeared or gone ‘up’ or ‘down’ so fast, even BF can’t move that fast surely!! I don’t believe it’s the forest people at all but can’t even hint at what it can be.. possibly a time warp!..some creature that lives below that can move super fast, even aliens .. God only knows because we don’t.. I simply wouldn’t go there and certainly not take kids with me if did. I feel so very sorry for the parents and their family’s and friends.. it has to be purely heartbreaking.

I lived and worked in our national parks for years and many of my friends still do. What I think is odd is that all these tourists are going missing in the parks yet I don't remember any employees ever going missing. I know your first thought is that employees don't go missing because we live there and know the terrain, but that's not true. We spent most of our time working in an office, hotel, or gift shops. When we did go out we didn't know anymore then a tourist. We just randomly wandered out into the wilderness and we were always stoned too. Plus those national parks are HUGE. Why are kids & tourists disappearing but never locals?

Good question. I've always wondered that toi, about the park's employees.

Locals anywhere are usually smelly and gross. If you visit me at home, I’m generally reeking of sweat, vomit, pickled bologna and deep fried goods. If I stay in a hotel, I then have access to facilities where I can shower and brush my tooth. There’s soap and shampoo in them showers.
@Elite75556 жыл бұрын
First, I don't think that is entirely true and only your limited experience. Second, locals might not let their young ones wander off.

You must always trust your gut feeling. I remember as an 8 year playing outside in an apartment parking lot one day. I was the only person there from what I could see. Let me add I always played outside as a kid either riding my bike or ‘looking for dinosaur bones.’ This time I was alone again in the parking lot when I suddenly had this sickening feeling like something is wrong. Keep in mind I’m only 8 with no such knowledge of looking over my shoulder or even being aware of the dangers out there. My mom never had such discussions with me about stranger danger or being careful around men in general. But something made my stomach sink that day and I ran towards a stairway that’s leads up to the apartments. The stairway itself isn’t safe as it’s behind apartments that residents hardly used. As I got all the way up the stairs I looked behind me to see what gave me that feeling and I saw the 2 men that lived across the street in another apartment complex. They’re looking up at me but stood still, like they knew it was too late to catch up to me. They lived on a 2nd story so to think today that they walked down the stairs, crossed the street and made their way into the parking lot where I was still sends shivers down my back. I know today what could have happened… but as a kid I didn’t know those dangers but always had a strong gut feeling growing up. I’ve had many close calls this being one of them.

When I lived in Oregon as a teen, I noticed that it seemed like a cycle of disappearances. One year would be teen girls, another kids, and another young women in their 20's. Crater Lake disappearances could very well be people falling into holes and cracks in the caves.

I used to do Ground Search and Rescue in Oregon. This does not strike me as super natural at all. Oregon forests are huge and cluttered with trees and foliage. I remember finding the remains of a crashed DC-8 from the 1960’s. We were all over that area, but we did not see the 5 acre debris field until we were 20 feet from it. Also, when you are conducting grid searches, you do one grid at a time. It is common for lost people to wonder around and enter grids you already searched. It is why moving around is discouraged. I could go on and on, but not before making a point. Unless you have significant survival skills, do not go off the trail, and only hike well traveled trails. Everyone should be carrying some sort of emergency location device. They may cost a few hundred dollars, but they are worth every penny. Some will transmit your location every few minutes to a website so family will know exactly where you are. Some services will send warnings to family if you do not move for a while.

That still doesn’t explain how a 2 year old can travel 12 miles at night through mountains.

@@Real_Patriot-y1y Adrenaline, full moon, fear, light pack, drive to never stop, youth, etc. Hyperthermia has a tendency to make some people feel invulnerable. Heck, we used to hike dusk to dawn with maybe a 10 minute rest every few hours…and I was 14 back then. Anyhow, we once did 70 in one day, 30 the next…but I assure you, we were toast the following two days. That was n our youth. Many adults would just sit down and die.

Let me respond to the profane reply, which I have already reported to KZbin. If you hike from 5am to 9pm with light packs, the benefits of youth and physical fitness, with a smooth trail (Pacific Crest Trail), and you have the mind to fight through the pain, trust me, it is very possible. For those who had to read through the profane reply that led to this comment, I apologize. I think the only thing to do is block the commenter.
